I have an old stlye TV with only Antena IN-OUT.
No Euroconector.
To conect my DVD and SAT receiver I bought a modulator
I think its called that/// (Little black box that works off 6V.)
Its worked fine since 2 years but the other day I started to get two dark lines rolling slowly up the image.
Its only happens on SAT and DVD ( so its not the TV)
Ordenary Antena image is fine. And as it happens on both the DVD and The SAT reciever, I assume its the little black box thats screwing up.
I cant to find any more 'cheap' black boxes...nobody stocks them any more ( I live in Barcelona)
Anybody have any 'Cheap' solutions.....
Thanks in advance D.

The capacitor in the Black Box's power supply is drying out.....that's why you see the black lines floating in the picture.
You need to pull it out and replace it with a new one.

Can you open the black box? You'll find it in there.....

Hi, firs of the the bar rolling up the screen is called a hum bar which suggests to me that the power supply (6v adaptor) that concerts 230v ac into 6v dc has parts in it called capacitors which if go faulty can cause this. If you want to buy another modulator for under £10.00 then you can get one from www.cpc.co.uk they still stock them as i bough one the other day for use in my caravan. They plug straight into the mains. They have a variable output frequency etc. If you need any other info please ask.

here's a slightly wacky solution but its what works for us. Go buy an old VCR. Hook it up to your TV through the aerial jack. The VCR should have better plugs on it for your DVD player to go into. Then just tune the DVD player into a channel on the VCR and tune the VCR into the TV. Sounds kinda complex but it's not and we've been using this method on 2 TV's for about 5 years now.
