Take Tylenol extra straight as recommended or even Motrin. That could do the trick. If they don't help, then ask your dentist what might help the pain. =)
And don't listen to the answer above me. I've had braces for two years myself and it seemed that every time I got mine tightened that I was in pain also, so I know exactly what you feel. That lady sounds like she never even had braces before.

Your gums are inflamed and tender because of the new adjustment. Take an aspirin, gently put your teeth together with pressure as if you are chewing. That will help some.

Get HYDROGEN PEROXIDE at the drug store> It is very inexpensive, about one dollar for a quart. Take a mouth full and swish two or three times a day to keep your gums healthy. It will bubble the food out of the braces and the bacteria out of your gums.

Trust me, I have used this for forty years and it works. Plus I have two children that went through a total of 8 years of braces. Good Luck.

If you have sinus problems take a specific sinus med. like Tylenol sinus. That should help.

Go back to your doctor. If you have had them for two years you are used to whatever it is they do. He has tightened them too much or they need to be checked or adjusted. You should not have that much pain. (had the same problem with my daughter)
