I am American and I want to immigrate to Australia. I will turn 20 next month and I have no education passed high school. My girlfriend lives in Australia, she is Australian (that’s the reason for me wanting to immigrate). What type of visa should I get? I know there are different types… Would a Partner Visa be suitable for me? And could I legally have a job if I got that type of visa? Or do I need a Work Visa for that? I have to be able to have a job, obviously...

Also, considering my age and educational background, would getting a visa be difficult for me? I know this is a difficult process and I’d really appreciate any advice that anyone may have for me…
Thanking everyone in advance,
Thomas

G'day,

Please check this weblink from Australian Dept. of Immigration (http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/index.htm). Also there are some immigration agents/lawyers that you may be able to chat to get some ideas abt your prospect of getting the visa to come to Australia. They are as follows:
immigration@nevile.com.au
adrian@wklawyers.com.au

Hope this helps. Good luck on your move and welcome to Australia :)

Be very careful what you are doing. Have heard it is very difficult to get into Australia because you have to have certain types of skills to qualify.

and do you lose your American citizenship? You may not think that matters, but you may never be able to get it back. Your girls friends may change. Then what?

Fiancee visa is the best for you because you have an Australian visa who will act as your sponsor to ensure that you will not stay illegally thereat.
