I know how that feels, got a problem with my new filling! Is there not another dentist you can see at the surgery? just simply explain that you did not feel comfortable with the dentist and want someone else, they will understand. If not, call your emergency dentist and see if they can see you, the surgery should have the number or it will be on the nhs website. Hope you feel better soon. x

I'm not sure what you have meant by saying he cut a nerve. If you mean you had root canal treatment(Taking out your root nerve) you should not have this problem and he should have asked you to come back, as you usually fist have a temporary filling to just kill the microbes with antibiotics and then a permanent filling.

But if you mean the dentist has damaged a nerve then I would recommend you to go back to a dentist probably another one for a check up as this can be dangerous(Can cause infection if there is a damage to the root and not treated). And also If it possible for your teeth to have become sensitive, if it is that then you can use Sensodyne toothpaste by leaving it on your tooth during night for a week or two.

did he give you pain meds(painkillers) antibiotics? if not call him and tell him you need painkillers because you are in alot of pain...nobody should have to deal with that pain.. if you go back i suggest asking for more sweet air so it will help relax you,and calm your verves tell him you are very nervous because the way you felt last time and ask for more novicaine if you feel anything.if he is a good dentist he should help you get out of pain and be sympathetic to how you feel otherwise go to someone else. sounds like he didnt take all the nerves out because when all nerves are out you should feel anything the tooth will be dead..you could have an infection which means you need antibiotics and pain meds before you go back to finish the root canal...some dentists cant do too much becvause of the infection..hence why you are still in pain....feel better!!

Go see a different dentist, sounds like you need a root canal because the cavity was too deep to just fill.

did you have a root canal treatment last time? in this case there was probably a extra canal that dentist did not cleared (needs a microscope).or was the filling to high ?Any way go to any dentist in urgency to take back the filling .

If it is actually filled and you have pain with hot or cold, it sounds like a leak in the filling.

Take a headset with music to listen to while they work.

I would go back and have it checked.

Honestly, I hate to have to tell you but this is what we get when we do not take excellent care of our teeth. And unless you develop and excellent daily routine, it will not get better.

Good luck on your decision.
