Is it easy to get urgent passport under Tatkaal scheme? I know what documents to submit. But I need to know if the passport officer asks many questions. I want to go to US for higher studies. Will he give me urgent passport say within 7 days?

How much time does it takes from passport application to police inquiry? Do I need to letter from IPS officers, Commisioner etc. after PV. Or just self affidevit will do?
Also, Can't I get full validity passport under Tatkaal?

After filling the application, it takes 45 working days to get the passport.
You can get passport under Tatkaal scheme in 8 days by paying something 1500 extra. So the total fees is 2500 (for a 10 page passport)

The passport would be disptached within 4 weeks after your application.
Under tatkal scheme the validity is for one year only. So you need not go for that option.
There is no need to go to the passport office through agents. The work is very simple and you would get the passport without any problem if all documents are in order.

You can get a passport within 7 days if you filed it under Tatkal scheme. If you can certify your credentials by an
IPS police officer [rank given in the passport form] then there will be no hastle.
The causes for the main delay is police verification report.
Please get in touch with the concerned police officer of
the local thana and pay him Rs 200 as speed money then there will not be any delay.Generally it takes 45 days to get
a passport.

under the normal conditions, it takes 1 month. Under tatkal scheme it takes 10-15 days. But the tatkal one needs to be redone after an year.
I also got my passport made from Pune, relax things are good there.

6 monts( In tamil nadu). The staff in passport office cell said so. So better get it under tatkaaal.

I got a new UK biometric passport today and they did not need fingerprints, but i do think this will be required in the future.

I got mine in 45 days.
but it depends on police verification. Do check your application status regularly after you have applied.

If your PV is complete, your can request for issue out of turn. You should be ready to pay Tatkal fee i.e. Rs. 1000/-. Take all documents, Be polite. You may go to US.
