A prayer for this person would be appropriate.
I see all these people respond with "leave him alone or pray with him"
Actually the folks who are saying to leave him be are more correct. You yourself said you don't think he has a relationship with the Lord. This is why I answered the way I did to at least put your mind at ease. If this person does not have faith in the Lord....what gives you the right to sit and preach over him or get him to accept the Lord into his heart. None...Let him be he will face judgement on his own accord.

I've done something like this before but not beside someones death bed. I'll advice; start with something that interests him/her and try not to scare him. pray before you start and just let the holy spirit lead you. Make him fall deeply in love with Jesus Christ and persist untill this happens. Let him know the Glories of Heaven and the pains of hell. Let him confess with his mouth that he accepts Jesus lthen leave the rest to God.

Perhaps he knows more about the Lord than you do - including the fact that there's no such entity. You have no right to inflict your belief system on someone unless they request and require it.
Seems to me that you have the right to enquire, just once, if he shares your belief and/or wants to talk about it. If the answer's no, you should shut up about it and not waste his limited time

I'll tell you now, if I were on my death bed and some christian came to me to "bring me to god" he would get to report to his god first. The absolute gall of some christians, and yet so typical of them, to approach someone in a parlous and weakened state and thrust their beliefs on the hapless individual. Leveraged free will is not free will, and a contract signed under duress is not binding.
And you dare talk about morality.

ask him straight up if he knows Jesus. if yes, then simply offer to pray with him and his family through the final vigils. if the answer is no, share your willingness to help him know Christ and alert your church for support, if he indicates a desire to come to Christ and to be baptized.
one of our members baptized her mother after she had a stroke and was on her deathbed at age 90! she prayed with and for her mom during vigil. in their talks, her mom expressed regret that she did not live a more Godly life. several members of our church worked tirelessly to make arrangements for her to study the bible and finally to be baptized, iv drips and all! it's a great testimony because God did not call her mom to Him and she is a vibrant member of our church family today!

Ask if there is anything from their life they feel was a sin ....ask if they would like to be forgiven of their sins ....tell them to ask Jesus to forgive them and then to ask for the Holy Spirit to guide them in repentance and then pray with them (there is no standard prayer for this I find it is best to pray from the heart) God be with you and my your neighbor be saved
