This is another point of the hypocrisy that is spewed from the mouths of many Christians.Their bible doesn't say homosexuality is worse of a sin then any other kind of sex.And many of them do have those "other" kinds of sex.So, hypocrites. The lot of them.

I got this email from "BumpThis" and, of course, he or she doesn't allow replies. Here is what he or she had to say:

"Subject: What the Bible Says about Homosexuality

Message: Hi. I read your post on the question about celibacy. You are wrong about what you said:

"Their bible doesn't say homosexuality is worse of a sin then any other kind of sex.And many of them do have those "other" kinds of sex"

Here is what 1 Corinthians 6: 9 - 11 says:

"What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom".

That is from my Bible and yours. You appear to lack accurate knowledge so you stab and attack because you don't think thru what you utter before you utter it."

My response:
Oh, I see.So, since you can quote this you must be right.Your Bible says that there are no other sexual sins greater then homosexuality just from that verse.I didn't get that from that verse.

"For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander" Matthew 15:19

"Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy." Romans 13:13

"And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."Matthew 12:31

"But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."" John 8:7

"Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains." John 9:41

I can go on and on BumpThis. If you want to quote the Bible in order to make incorrect points at least do it with someone who hasn't already studied it.And I never once mentioned celibacy.I just mentioned that there are many sins that are equal to that of what Christians consider the sin of homosexuality and those other equal sins they themselves commit and so they don't have room to talk.

Jesus had to remain celibate, for (unlike man-made gods) He could not have any kind of intimate relations with mortals, for that would make Him less than God. Sex was given to us so that the human tace couild multiply on the Earth (otherwise the first few wars would have wiped us out). God, even in the flesh as Jesus was, has no need for sex, he was and is far above that HUMAN act.

Jesus took on flesh so that He might understand all of the temptations, weakness and sufferings that we face (He hungered, was thirsty, suffered weariness, pain, etc.) so that when we stand before Him at our judgment, He will understand our weaknesses, having been there Himself. For as it is said of Him;

Hebrews 2:18

18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Hebrews 4:14-16

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Remember, Sodom and Gomorrah were incinerated by God for the sin of homosexuality as an example for all time of His wrath against such behavior. And archaeologists have found both cities, and discovered that both cities were destroyed by fire, a fire which started on the roofs of the cities and burned it's way down.

The area around both cities was once lush and green grassland, but after God destroyed the cities of the plain the area has been a barren wasteland for about 5,000 years.

I hope this answers both the question as to why Jesus was celibate, and answers those who ignorantly and maliciously say that He was homosexual.

Just because Jesus was celibate does not mean we should be. We are all not the Son of God. I just think that he was so focused on fulfilling Gods will, he didn't care much for women. There are many examples of great men in the bible having wives. Also many of Jesus' commandments were to love your wife, keep your wife etc. Also if everyone was celibate we would have all died out a long time ago =P

Why do so many people equate sex with procreation? Sex is a very enjoyable part of life and whatever happens between consenting adults (straight or gay) has nothing to do with others nor with the Bible! The Bible was penned centuries after Christ - it is out of date! We are living in the 21C - man is a free-thinker and does not need so-called religious fanatics telling us how to behave! Do we really know what goes on behind closed doors of vicars, bishops, Imams etc? Do we really want to? NOPE!

With regards to celibacy! Why should any of us want to be celibate? Sex is great and man is a very sexual animal!

Jesus HAD to be celibate. Why would He be so cruel as to leave a wife and children behind with what He had to do?

Jesus was an avid supporter of monogamous marriage between a man and a woman. So am I.

Jesus would do celibacy.

Many people are not using the gift of sexuality right, not even when married and being a heterosexual couple. It is not easy for us either to do what God asks us to do. But we try anyway and start over when we fall. : )

You all are missing the point, he isn't pushing/bashing Hetero/Homosexuality, he wan'ts to push celibacy.

Jesus may have been celibate, but God does not want everyone to be celibate. Our race would die.

"And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth."

Don't bash sexuality based on personal religious choices.

Eye of the beholder. People are happy with what they want. If Jesus was a man, some say he was, depends on what he liked or disliked. Religion should not matter if that is the case.

Great point! If these people really lived their life like Jesus, and he (supposedly) was celibate, then we wouldn't have such a problem with world over-population!
The church and the government have no business sticking their noses into the bedrooms of the people. It is a violation of basic personal freedoms.
