I've made a similar point about this contradiction.
Technology (applications of science) work, exactly as predicted 24 hrs a day.
How many planes safely lift off and land,?
How many time do computers talk to each other over the internet?
How mnay light swicthes are turned off and on?
If these things work exactly as predicted, the periodic table of elements works. And no in a Supernatural Way.
If the Periodic Table works, astronomy is true, geology is true, paleontology is true, biology (including genetics) is true.
If all of that is true and we are a part of it, EVOLUTOIN IS TRUE ALSO.
It's only a threat to you when you idiotically take the Bible literally.
Which is to miss the point.

Science and particularly technology (applied science) create an artificial world between man and nature. As it grows uncontrolled, this artificial world destroys both nature and man while pretending to be a help. Great cultures were created in the past without this kind of technology.
You don't trust roads. You want to ride your horse through the woods. But the woods are fenced, roads have been built. Now you pay for the road, and are forced to ride a motor vehicle. The common woods are gone since centuries now. This we call "freedom" and "progress". When they paint arrows and tell you to follow them or you'll be fined.
Virtual life is not better than real life, but it could be that you must live virtually whether you trust it or not. Many people do not understand that there was more freedom 200 years ago, before the industrial revolution.
Also technology and machinery replaces your talents and skills.
The list is long: fill it in yourself.
I am not a Christian. But I thought your question was worth an answer.

Luci, I hope you do not fall into the category that your avatar may suggest.
You seem very young. Try to see how much scientific knowledge have changed over the last 10 decades. Scientific fact of the 1900 is now scientific non-sense, and some of it quite funny in the light of today's understanding.
Thus science needs to be evaluated. I suspect that you have the evolution in mindwith your question -- it has always been a soft -- frankly, daft science. It has nothing to offer that the Bible doesn't offer better.
Once the Bible is examined in an unbiased manner, it is seen that the Bible doesn't specify when the heavens and the earth was created -- it just says, in the beginning.
The creative days likewise may be millions of years long. So that if we count from the time given by scientist for the sun to turn into a mainline sun, each day than calculates up to around 700-760 mill / creative day.

I have been a christian all my life (35 yrs) and have never once been told that chrisitianity does not trust science! Infact my local priest once told me that in the bible when it says that God took 6 days to create the earth, he highly doubted if it was 6, 24 hour days, it may have been millenia, otherwise, how else would any right thinking person explain dinasaurs? Somone is lying if he says christians dont trust science, or let me say if other christian denominations do, i wouldnt know but as far as Roman Catholics go, science is our friend, that is how we know how to practice natural family planning!

Stop generalizing. I have no problem with science whatsoever. I'm thinking that after I get at least my Bachelor's in history, if not my Master's, I'm going to try for a Bachelor's in physics. Physics is fascinating. So is astronomy.
And yes, I am a Christian. Science may not be my field, but I found the introduction to physics I took in high school to be VERY interesting...and when I worked hard at it, I did pretty well.

Not true. If Christians do not trust science how come so many Christians are scientists. Christians understand that God is beyond science. God gives humans the brain to study science and to invent computers as well as many other things. God is not opposed to science and technology.

I have self belief actual technology. I have self belief organic regulation. I have self belief technology theory in protecting with observations of nature. I have self belief technologies and technological advances to some extent (that's to assert, i comprehend ultimately my computing gadget will freeze and my automobile will wreck down, yet that with maintenence and care it receives me there longer. I also comprehend that once it breaks down that's through placed on and tear or different complications no longer a substitute in organic regulation. for instance, if my computing gadget blows up because of a ability surge, i comprehend that electricity nevertheless works an similar way and the area isn't that electricity needs to be redefined, yet that my surge protector needs to get replaced.) i do no longer have self belief mad cap philosophical theories that would want to no longer be shown, by definition, even as they mascarade as technology. i do no longer reject evolution in ordinary words because it contridicts the Bible, yet because it contridicts the regulation of Conservation of remember and ability, cutting-aspect findings in biology (such because the complexity of the cellular) and hardship-loose sense. Small minded human beings can mock all they want to. the reason you mock is that you fairly don't have any sturdy foundation with which to educate your theory.

The idea that Christians don't trust science is a stereotype, and an unfair one at that. Many Christians I've known in the church have had brilliant scientific/medical backgrounds.
Don't stereotype.

What link is there between science and computers?
Who says christians don't trust science?
The whole Bible hasn't been contradicted by historians or scientists.
I trust science. There is just some theories out there that even atheists totally refute: like darwinism or evolution.
We have been given knowledge, to use it.
Science is totally not bad. There are christian scientists.
In contrary: if I see how magnificently complex even the smallest structure of the human body is (mitochondrias) I am amazed and in awe of the Creator.

I trust science. How else are we going to kill ourselves if not through our own creations? Just joking. No science is a necesity. I love watching my sport on my cellphone and listening music on it. I think that science is just not good enough to explain the existance of God. Thats all. Everything I have learned in school says that there has to be something to create something. Now God made everything out of nothing. It is hard to believe, But I believe it. Why you ask? Because it is my choice just like it is your choice not to belive. I wish you would because you would make a cute angel.
