to be a good christian, you have to be a good person, you know the sins of man? dont do them find somewhere else to teach you what you want to know, read the bible and learn from that.
You should look at other religions to find the one that is right for you...but in the end you might find that a chunch or a religion isnt you but dont worry as long as you are happy not hurting yourself or anyone else in any way then that makes you a good person in the end isnt that what we all want to be?

Follow the best Christian - Mother Mary.

I know protestant church does not honor or pray to Mother Mary, because of your belief that it is against the 1st commandment to adore God alone.

The Catholic Church believe in the intercession of Mother Mary. We don't worship Mother Mary as we worship God. We pray to Mother Mary to interceed for us. It is just the same as asking your friend to pray for you so that you'll have a successful operation or you get well from an illnes or pass an exam.

Don't go to a church which is bible based.
Remember Jesus didn't come here and wrote the bible. He came here to built the church. Jesus would never build a Church that would just vanish in time. The Church has authority over the bible not the other way around. Same as Sabbath is made for man not man is made for Sabbath.
The Catholic Church is the only Apostolic Church.

Do you agree that when you step on a snake, the snake will come to hate you very much?

Do you believe that the woman who step on the serpent's head is Mother Mary? And so he will hate Mother Mary very much?

Which are the denominations that does not honor Mother Mary? Would you stay with them? Will the serpent honor Mother Mary or not?

IN order to be a good and strong Christian, you must follow Christ's words.

It is the Lord which strengthens his servants.

Let's read

Philippians 4:13

" I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. "

It is the LORD which strengthens his servants.

Your another question is how can you be a good Christian.

Let's read the answer in

John 8:31 the Lord Jesus Christ said,

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; "

CONTINUE IN THE WORDS OF THE LORD.

Find a church that has no pictures or crosses on it, that has no denominational affiliation, where the preacher only uses the King James bible, that is small - because the truth is unpopular - where you are made to feel uncomfortable when confronted with the sin in your life, remain in a constant state of humble repentance and worship God cheerfully.

edit:

And love your neighbor as yourself.

Read the first four books of the New Testament which are about the Christian savior and seek to do all that he teaches. Avoid those who attempt to interpet what Jesus says for their own glory, from Paul the Apostle to any minister who does not follow the logic of Jesus.

Allow God to come into your life in a deeper way. Study more in the scriptures and pray more. Ask God to increase your spiritual life. Get more involved in ministry in your church. Pray to God to reveal to you what your spiritual gift is so that you can better your local church. Do not separate from your church. Use your gifts to enhance the ministry there and enhance your own spiritual life! Take time to read scripture and pray everyday. If you want to do more, add a devotional time morning, afternoon, and night. Read books that talk about spiritual passion and increasing that passion. God bless.

What you are asking may not have anything to do with your intentions outlined in your statement after.

It's good to know what others believe, knowing the differences can help you understand why you believe what you do. I put that in the category of 'field study'.

But do you want to be a strong Christian? Then remember how you started to be a Christian. By trusting God for what He said he would do. "Thus saith the word of the Lord" is our premise for believing him, which sets us apart from the world.

Both John Wesley and Williwm Booth( founder of the Salvation Army) wrote out a set of questions to ask themselves and their compatriots each week to help them keep on spiritual track. It might do you some good to get a copy of either one of those and practice using it.

Just be a good and kind human being. You don't have to belong to a religion to let your light shine. If you are not obviously religious then your light can be seen by many in this weary world. Blessed Be.
