Not for long (a fraction of a second most likely)
If one put 3 of them in series it could work.
One could put a resistor in series with the lamp, but about 2/3 of the power would be wasted as heat, so if this is for lighting, it would not be practical, but if it is an small indicator lamp, it might be a reasonable option.
A transformer is probably the best option to operate an 88V lamp on a 240V supply

88 volt lamp, 240 volts ... looks like a bad mismatch to me.
