I mean, say they do accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, but they dont understand the concept of trinity enough, can they still be a Christian?

I am asking this because I know someone who thinks this way, and I was wondering if they can be regarded as Christian?

Yes, you are a Christian if you believe in the teachings of Jesus. (1) The Nicene Creed was adopted in 325 AD. So there was at least 275 years worth of Christians believing in Christ BEFORE the Trinity thing was officially adopted and forced upon Christians... eventually making it the "orthodox" belief. It's documented history for anyone who wants to research it. (2) There is a handful of Christian ministers who don't believe that Jesus was really the literal Son of God... but they are still recognized as Christian ministers. So, don't sweat it. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, then you're a Christian.

(John 14:28) The holy spirit isn't a individual; this is God's energetic rigidity.—Genesis a million:2; Acts 2:18. Rom 8:3b ..."God, via sending his very own Son interior the likeness of sinful flesh and with regards to sin, condemned sin interior the flesh," interior the e book of John; Jesus refers to himself and his God and Father as separate and distinctive persons 176 circumstances. Christians are people who follow Jesus Christ, & believe what he himself taught. He himself never taught the Trinity.

The original Christians did not believe in a trinity any more than the Jews had. It was many, many decades after the death of the Apostles that the idea of the trinity was adopted by the Catholic church... and not from the Bible.

ya of course.

The trinity thing is not a part of dogma or anything. It is just a way of understanding god.

according to the doctrine of the orthodox Christians:

" by the Father, understanding God's creation; by the Son, his knowledge (which was transmitted though Jesus, the incarnation of his word); and by the Holy Ghost, his essence."

Don't listen to Punter....he is basing his ideas off heretical sects in Arabia. (there were some sects in Arabia over a 1000 years ago that believed in a real trinity of 3 beings (Jesus, Mary, and God for example).

Why, Brothers and Sisters, do we spend so much time questioning each others doctrine. Should we not concentrate on saving sinners?

Jesus said:

John 13:34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

The Jews doctrine was different to that of Jesus, but did it stop him from loving them? No! my point is this, by ignoring those of differing doctrine we ignore the heart of the law, which is love! Why are we wasting time, when time is short. No church should be empty whilst there are sinners left to save. Let us work together, as the churches of Jesus time did, and bring good news to those who are waiting for it.

The answer to your question Brother is yes, I do not believe in the Trinity, as it is not taught by either Jesus, or by the early churches. see www.truthortradition.com

Actually all true Christians reject the trinity.

They agree with Paul:

Rom 15: 5 Now may the God who supplies endurance and comfort grant YOU to have among yourselves the same mental attitude that Christ Jesus had, 6 that with one accord YOU may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

They agree with Peter

1 Pet 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

They agree with John

Rev 1:6 and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—yes, to him be the glory and the might forever. Amen.

They agree with Jesus

John 10: 36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?

Rev 3:12 “‘The one that conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God,

We agree with Jehovah

Matt 3:17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

If you disagree with Paul, Peter, John, Jesus or Jehovah,

You can not be a Christian.

Yes sure. Trinity is only a concept to try and understand God.
God is not so complex that He can not be understood. The Bible is written so that anyone can understand Him. The difference is that God is not human, so He can not be described as a human can be described.

Acceptance is a good first step. New Christians don't have to know every thing to be a Christian. There are always classes to study and deepen ones knowledge about Christ and his mission. They should get involved with a congregation and learn and grow.

if they reject the trinity then no, i don't think they are christian or atleast not following the jesus of the bible. if they accept it and have some understanding of the trinity then yes they are christian. god has infinite wisdom whilst we have finite wisdom, no christian will ever fully understand the concept of the trinity therefore with faith we accept it as the religious truth that it is.
