Many impacts including...

> Desertification as some parts of the planet receive less rainfall.

> Drought for the reasons above.

> Flooding as some areas receive more rainfall.

> Disease as a consequence of flooding.

> Contamination of water sources due to both drought and flooding.

> Overall net increase in rainfall thus speeding up the water cycle.

> Extensive irrigation schemes to bring water to barren areas leading to removal of water from streams and rivers thus affecting those further downstream, possible dam construction for the same reasons.

> Rising sea levels, already led to inundation of some low lying island communities, will lead to continued loss of low lying land and in the long term poses a threat to coastal towns and cities, the result being population migration.

> Rising sea levels also leads to salinisation of ground water thus impacting on crops, animals and humans who draw from the ground water.

> The melting of large expanses of permafrost has made available hitherto frozen agricultural land and produced many thousands of new lakes.

> Melting ice caps is leading to a slow rise in sea levels and threatening the environment of polar ecology.

> Marine environment is affected by gradual warming and acidification of seas and oceans, beneficial for some but detrimental to others.

> Some lakes and reservoirs have dried up completely, others are below average capacity leading to scarcity of water.

> Glaciers provide drinking water for millions living in proximity to mountain regions, glacial retreat has already impacted on many people, more are threatened.

> Glacial melt leads to increased flooding, landlsides, avalanches and loss of habitat.

> Thermohaline circulation may be affected leading to increased warming in some places and cooling in others.

H2o is the life blood of this blue planet. we are water! There will be chaotic situations as global warming continues unchecked. Arizona is now the fastest growing state in the USA. Surface water in sparse desert climate that is in a decade plus drought, is pulling ground water from contained aquifers at an alarming rate. They pump in one hour what it took 10-100 years to percolate down. Land is collapsing in many counties. Salinization is occurring is agri-soil too. Increased strong 'male' rain and thunderstorms flood other areas. Good , bad we shall see... Ever changing---always!
