Dear All,

I kindly ask you for some information and help. I have got the following observation :
The hand of the fuel indicator does not go back to the zero state when I switch off completely the car and all the others go into default zeroed positions. I have a Renault Megane 1996, so I am wondering if it is normal exactly for the fuel indicator or not? If not how it could be fixed and where is the problem ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot in advance!

The important point is does it indicate the fuel level correctly? If it does it may be the older trermally driven indicator technology. If it does not, have it or the sending unit replaced as necessary.

Electronic gages act funny. Old electric gages go to the lowest point on the scale without electricity. Some, but not all electronic gages do also. Most of them remain where they were when the ignition was turned off. On some newer vehicles that have a diagnostic mode, they sweep from min to max, when the ignition is switched on.
Don't worry about it.
