I hear it can be really cool outside during the winter times. In the summer time at Fort Benning, GA, it could get chilly just before sunrise. Just imagine that during winter time.

I say the best time to experience basic training or boot camp is summer time. Not only will you get stressed a lot by your DSs or DIs , but the heat will just add on to the experience.

Give it a shot.

Weather will never cancel training activities.

I reported to basic labor day weekend,
(Ft Knox, KY) the first 2 weeks were miserably hot, but after that, the weather was perfect, not too cool, not too hot.
Since June is 1/2 over, , I'd d try to set it up so you leave around labor day.
_ To answer your question, you don't want to do a mile run when it's 15 degrees.you'll feel like your lungs are ready to pop like a baloon. You get up, get dressed, it's zero,by mid afternoon, it's 60,by 5PM,zero again. ((Ft Leonard Wood in January.))This was AIT, so we didn't have the physical exertion of basic, but you'd bedressed forcold, start sewating, it would cool, and you'd get the chills. It sucked.,
Goodluck.

If you're talking Navy, shoot for late spring. Recruit Training Command is located in Great Lakes, IL and the winters there are harsh. You run your PT tests indoors on a pretty new track but you'll be outside plenty and there will be many other chances to get frosty. Plus, if it snows while you're there, you'll probably get to shovel it.

i went through Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, TX from Jan - Mar time frame / I had a blast due to NO SNOW in the wintertime (i came from New England part of the country)
Temps would change during the day (never too hot - never too cold)
