The incredible Chutzpa! The capital is Tel Aviv. That's where all the embassies are. Last year Canada would not process a passport application because, as always pushing the envelope, the young Jew was manipulated into stating his birth place as Jerusalem, Israel. A test. It is an international city, Godly, and does not belong to Israel. Canada recognizes this UN proclaimed status. And so does the world much to the chagrin of the Zionist patrol of Yahoo Answers. In fact much of the world questions the Jews right to ANY part of Palestine.

israel would like it to be jerusalem, but only a couple of countries recognized the annexation of the area of jerusalem by israel, and so most of the embassies are in tel aviv, which is internationally recognized as israel's capital-

Considering Israel itself does not consider Tel Aviv to be the capital, I don't see what anyone thinks that. That's like me telling you that Manchester is the capital of England because I don't recognize London. Israel considers its capital Jerusalem and the Knesset (paliament) is there, and a few countries (including the US) do as well. The majority of countries will not recognize Israel's capital until a final border agreement. So I suppose the best answer is either Jerusalem, or Israel does not yet have one.

EDIT: Listen people, I get it you don't recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. But once again, that does not mean that Tel Aviv is. No one calls Israel's capital Tel Aviv - not Israel not no one. Also, at least be consistent; if Jerusalem isn't the capital of Israel then it isn't the capital of anything. The only other country that has controlled Jerusalem is Jordan, not Palestine. If you don't want to call Jerusalem Israel's capital because there's no final border agreement - I get it. But at least be consistent.

The Parliament is in Jerusalem and Israel has constantly stated that Jerusalem is Israel "Indivisible and eternal" capital. However, most foreign embassies are in Tel Aviv.

For some unknown reason, the Palestinians claim Jerusalem as the Capital of a future Palestinian state (Jerusalem has never been the Capital of an Arab state only ever a Jewish State)

JERUSALEM. anyone who says otherwise needs a brain transplant. especially if they think Tel Aviv is the capital.

what the hell?!? you people think a country's capital is based on where the FOREIGN embassies are?!?!? you need a reality check!!! ITS NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU!!!! a capital is where the country itself has its most important places- for instance, the Knesset (=the government), the Prime Ministers and President's houses and offices, and so on. and btw, there are plenty of embassies in Jerusalem too... -not that it should be relevant here anyway...
