The gym is a good place to meet other single people. The best part is that the people you meet there are the type that take care of their bodies. Of course most people that are at the gym are more focused on their workout routines than they are meeting others. Don't let that discourage you. Use the gym as another way to meet single guys.
Here is a suggestion if you want to go this route to meet someone at the gym. Ditch the Ipod or anything you are listening to on earphones. Noone tends to approach or talk to anyone busy listening to their music.

A bar is better. When I'm at the gym, I'm concerned a lot of the time that people I hit on will think I'm weird; I mean their at the gym to work out not be hit on, right? Or are they? Hmmm... Problem is it gets awkward seeing them again at a gym if they shoot you down... Not too hard in a bar. Do girls really go to the gym to meet men? That would be awesome, as it opens up so much more potential!

Some guys who are real gym freaks are totally focused on working out. Occassionally you get to meet some decent guys. Going to the gym is fun and I would just go anyways.

An excellent way! Once you get in shape, you'll notice that many more eligible bachelors will want to date a woman who takes pride in her appearance than somebody who sits on the couch grouching to her mother on the phone about not finding decent men to date...lol

No matter where men are, they're thinking of picking up women, so don't worry about men in the gym being more concerned about exercise.
