You might have Dyslexia.
I have it too.
You should go to a clinic and get tested.
They'll give you a bunch of excerises to do, like reading stupid paragraphs.
It really helps though. You should try it.

Because you are in school you can have your parents request you be tested for a variety of learning disorders. Being "spec-ed" is not just for the developmentally delayed (aka mentally retarded) but also for kids who have difficulty translating information. The fact that you get good grades when you are given time means something. But, mixing up words and numbers can have so many causes! Two that come to mind are dyslexia and dysgraphia, but those are just two of so many!

Talk to your parents. if they request you be tested, the school district has to test you. If you know the why, you can do what you have to do to adapt. But you have to know the why...

Good luck

I do the same thing! It's so embarrassing! I have found a trick that helps me say words right. When I am talking, I just imagine the word in my head and I say it right. I think that it's the spelling that helps me remember what it's supposed to sound like. But when it's like 3:25, I'll say it's 2:35. It's so annoying and I haven't found anything that will help me with numbers and time. I think I'm mildly dyslexic.

You might be having sleep problems. When you aren't getting enough rest your brain does NOT function right. Also try taking some vitamins supplements. B complex always helps.

You will need to come up with other strategies besides taking extra time, because that won't be available to you in life as you go forward, anyway.

See if your school can recommend a tutor trained to help people with your particular set of challenges. These people have a wealth of techniques available to help you. unlock your true potential.

Have you ever talked to anyone about "dyslexia?" It's very common and well-known today by teachers and doctors. Dyslexia is exactly what you have!! There's your diagnosis. Now do something about it!! Good luck, kiddo. Everything is going to be uphill from here. I promise. :)
