I was saddened to hear the remarks posted after Rev. Falwell passed away , even though as a Christian, he was too politically involved in my personal opinion. Billy Graham and his beautiful wife avoided political controversy, insofar as possible, even though he ministered to more presidents than any other man.

she was an honorable virtuous woman just like in the Bible.
She did more for Christ than we will ever know of because she was humble and wanted all glory to be for God.

As usual, a lot of people seem to be missing the points you've made. Point one: Billy Graham is doing exactly what the fundies jumped all over Terri Schiavo's husband for doing, but they seem to be ignoring what Billy's doing. That's the hypocracy. Point Two: I think that burying dead bodies is ridiculous, yet those who don't feel that way seem to have no problem with Billy's wife's being denied her wishes (even I wouldn't do that). If you know that someone's wishes on such a subject have been the same for years, you don't suddenly have them sign a paper to change them at a time when they may be incompetent. That's simply taking advantage of the situation. Hypocracy. The problem with some fundies is that they never see anything they don't want to see. By the way, Terri Schiavo was not in a coma. Her brain had turned to mush -- she no longer existed. Machines were keeping the body alive, but no one was in there.

Billy Graham had a much longer career and much less divisive style than Jerry Falwell. Where Billy Graham talked about and always seemed genuinely interested in MY salvation, Jerry Falwell was only interested in people that looked and thought like him and making sure that they got their interests addressed by the government.

I'm not saying you couldn't here "hatefilled remarks" but they won't be from me. The Rev. Graham and Jerry Falwell are as different as chalk and cheese.

Frankly I am amazed at the large number of people that
follow this subject for the sole purpose of poking fun or
making stupid remarks about someone else's faith. Why
would they not be happier chatting with someone who thinks
as they do? Is that just farther proof that satin is still alive and well? Doctors said my 5 year old son didn't have to get any
worse to die. We prayed and in those same moments he
recovered. Doctors reexamined there lab reports but could
not explain it. All these years latter Doctors said my wife was
dieing. Then she would never wake up, then if she did she
wouldn't know who she was or where she was at and then
that she was never coming off life support. Each time I prayed
and times in between. Guess what! She is home, She is
happy and no brain damage. She cooks three meals a day
and enjoys long rides in the country. I am claiming that 11
prayers were answered. More than one Doctor has called her
a miracle. One of which was reversed brain damage. I don't
need faith as long as I have these facts. All the none believers
in the world can't change the facts nor my mind. I know in my
hart that Sister Ruth Graham is with her Father in heaven, and
that in the not too distant future our dear Brother Billy Graham
will fallow her there. It wouldn't surprise me if some hopeless
pathetic people made some snide remarks about her
passing. Thats where they find joy in there otherwise dull
life. Thats all they have going for them. Thank you for a
good question.

I believe few if any bad remarks will be made about the late Ruth Graham. She was a fascinating and love filled person. Falwell peddled hate to ensure a lucrative career; whereas Mrs. Graham lived a truly Christian life. She was effective in converting non believers to her faith by her life long example. Falwell only managed to turn decent Christians into hard hearted hatemongers which pushed non-believers further from the Christian faith.

I have read some of them here in other post. I am not overly fond of the Fundamentalist, but I don't think that Billy Graham was all that bad. He is a good man, gentle, loving and I am sure that his wife was even better. I just read about her on the website that someone else posted and it was very nice. I have nothing against them. I am sure that she is at peace and that he will be as well. He has family and friends to confort him.

Of all the big-name televangelist, I probably have the most respect for Billy Graham, even if I don't agree with him.

As for his wife, I have little knowledge of her, and even if I disliked her husband intensely, that would be no reason to make any adverse comment on her passing.

Rev. Falwell was a dishonest, hate-filled bigot who wished suffering and death on complete strangers. The contempt heaped out him on his death was a direct result of how he lived.

The Bible says 'As you sow, so shall you reap". and so nobody should be surprised that the people who Falwell vilified during his lifetime should celebrate his death (although I personally believe many of the comments to be over the line, I sympathize with the feelings of those who uttered them)

Well, if Ruth Graham created the kind of antipathy and animosity that Jerry Falwell did, then yes. For the love of whatever higher power there is, this was a man that declared war on the Teletubbies. Not because the idea of giant alien toddlers with TV's in their stomachs was weird, but because he truly believed that the one with a triangle on his head was gay because he carried a purse. These are not real creatures. They have no concept of gender, or sex, much less homosexuality.

But, if Ruth Graham actually practiced the kind of "good" Christianity that her husband always sermonised about, then there would be no reason to tear her down just based on her belief.

Rev. Falwell incited hate, that is why there may have been such remarks. I never heard Ruth Graham speak, let alone with hatred.

I'm very sorry for Ruth Graham. She was a fine lady. And I'm sure there are going to be nasty remarks made on here about her. It just goes to show that people have no respect, even for the dead.
