There are 3 possibilities regarding God:
1) God doesn't exist. In this case, humanity would be better off trying to take care of the problems in the world ourselves instead of waiting for someone who doesn't exist to take care of them.
2) God exists and is almighty, omniscient, and benevolent. In this case, God can and does help with the problems in the world, but he would prefer for us to help out and would not have any desire to be worshiped. Prayer is useless because God already knows your intentions and that time could be better spent working to help God improve the world.
3) God exists, but is not almighty, not omniscient, and/or not benevolent. In that case, humanity would be better off working to improve the world than worshiping God because there are some things that God either cannot or will not do to help us. Worshiping such a flawed deity is a mistake.
In every case, you get the same result. Worshiping God is a waste of time that could be better utilized working to improve the world around us.
God is irrelevant.

I am not here to persuade anyone of anything. You should come to your own conclusions about such matters. I will, however, give you many of the reasons I became an atheist.
1. Everyone told me that invisible beings, such as Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, weren't real. All gods seem to be no different than those invisible beings, so believing seemed silly.
2. Every religious text is filled with inconsistencies, lies, or both. Their stories are mostly ridiculous to me. This was especially the case for Christianity, which has a magical birth, a guy returning from the dead, a guy who can part the sea, and a multitude of miracles which seem ridiculous tales of fancy.
3. Using logic, I felt that if there was one true religion, all others would have failed. Truth is sometimes difficult to see, but not that difficult.
4. Using elementary school logic, I am able to discount the ability to be all-powerful, leaving most gods today impossible for me to believe in. This logic is the old "Can (insert god here) create a stone so heavy, he cannot lift it?" Either answer shows a limit in power, so power must be limited.
5. Most gods are given human characteristics, such as loving, vengeful, etc. That would make these gods no better than men, so I reject the idea of them.
6. Religion has been the direct cause of much brutality in the world as far back as written record.
7. Religions tend to change with the times, which leads to obvious inconsistencies. As society changes what it considers to be acceptable, so do religions. Where once, slavery, beheadings, stoning to death, and the execution of non-believers was thought to be acceptable or even espoused by religions, now these things aren't. How can a religion that changes have ever been wholly true? It couldn't, in my opinion.
8. Science has continued to debunk myth, and this leads me to believe that most religions were created to explain things that couldn't be explained, until now.
There are many other reasons, but these are most of the major points. Regardless of my opinions, I hope you feel things out for yourself.

Why should you allow anyone to persuade you of anything? This doesn't make much sense. If you could be persuaded to follow one or the other, then you can be persuaded to be misled as well.
Why don't you make up your own mind? Surely, you are intelligent enough to reject or accept an idea based on your own reasoning, common sense, and logic. You can study. There is almost unlimited research you can do. If you are not capable of determining the truth on your own, surely you can find a qualified individual to help you. Why waste your time challenging people to persuade you with arguments?

No and I won't attempt to. What I will encourage you to do is to study, not only theology (I don't ascribe to one because I'm Atheist) but science and history as well. I am confident that the Truth will become apparent to you without my interference.
That is how I came to my conclusions.

Atheism has no theology.
It is a matter of if you believe in gods or not. If you do not believe in gods then you are an Atheist. I have no reason to persuade you not to believe in gods, the only reason I don't is lack of proofs and evidence. If you want to believe then all the power to you.

Atheism isn't theology. So no following required. In fact, no anything required. That's the beauty of it.

i cant (im theist)
im not gonna convince anyone see i wont force you or convince you to join a religion or not to
im not like that, im nice
athieism is as plausible as whatever other religions there are
i just like athieism because if your christian and your wrong youve wasted a life going by rules that dont exist
i like to live life to its fullest but still morally correct way, so i cant join a religion because its isnt based off of proof so the rules are unfounded (well some)

Atheism means without a theology. It is not a faith or religion. It is a lack of faith and a lack of religion.

God loves you, whether you believe in Him or not.
Faith cannot be explained by theology.
Maybe you're soul searching right now....
But when the day comes, you will her His calling.
God bless you.
