The way the dark before dawn gradually gives way to deep blue and the brightens bluer and bluer, and the clouds change fiery red colours.
It is magnificent and awesome.

The sheer scale of the universe, and the incredibly tiny particles that it's made of..

We are so completely insignificant in the grander scale of things, yet the love of ones children can easily surpass everything in importance.

As we and everything else are made from elements forged in the cores of generations of stars, it follows that the universe has evolved to a point where it can consider it's own existance, and at least once in our neck of the universal woods..

We are not separate from, or owners of, nature or the universe, but an intimate part of it. Everything in existance is linked, and not just in the biological world, but on an atomic and even quantum levels of energy too..

Clarity, peace, humility and understanding can be seen through the eyes of science..

The fact that the planet is a tiny and insignificant dot on a vast cosmic stage -- as Carl Sagan describe it: "Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity -- in all this vastness -- there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. It is up to us. It's been said that astronomy is a humbling, and I might add, a character-building experience. To my mind, there is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly and compassionately with one another and to preserve and cherish that pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

That the God loves me enough to send His Son to die for someone like me. When I truly look at the awesome God that we have it humbles me to think that He would care for me.

The millions of chemical reactions, ionic exchanges each moment that keep this body I reside in the experience I generally take for granted - y'know, the heart beating, the kidneys working, the brain thinking...we are so fragile......it blows my little mind wide open when I get thinking about it.

knowing that the CREATOR of all...who does not need us and would certainly do better without us...HE whose thoughts are so much higher than ours whose power is beyond our comprehension...i mean, we must just accept things like never being born, or universes that go on forver space that is not limited to the box in our imaginations, we learn to accept these because to try to analyze them, comprehend them...send our puny little brains into near panic.
but this GOD who created us not only LOVES us, HE WANTS us...HE called Abraham a friend, David a man after HIS own heart...Elijah never saw death because he walked with GOD all his days....so many people say that GOD is arrogant, selfish....whatever....but they just cant see that GOD IS!!! i mean if you were in GODs place (and be honest here) would YOU make even a small attempt to love the unloveable...those who mock you, spit on your name, reject everything you have done, yet demand you do more for them, curse you and do everything you said not to do? truthfully...i would have wiped everyone out with the flood and NOT STARTED OVER!!!! it is GODs LOVE that humbles me most!!!!

When I consider how vast and yet how simply beautiful the universe is, and how every one of us is a unique individual with our own innate value.

Everything but my ego/self-esteem/self-image. That alone keeps my humility away, and not for very long, as I see through myself too easily.
