waiting until the scab has come off is the most sensible opinion IF you're not going to quit the swimming, but really it takes up to 3 months for a new protective layer of skin to form over the tattoo. swimming that often i wouldn't recommend. before that point and certainly for the first 2/3 weeks, it is very much still an open wound and you're getting chlorine from the water going right into it which isn't good a good chemical. you'll also have to make sure you clean the tattoo very thoroughly as soon as you come out of the pool too.

Is the area healed?? As long as there are no signs of infection, you should be able to go swimming. A tip, if you're considering sunbathing or the tattoo is exposed to sunlight, apply a sunblock to the ankle. This will prevent irritation and protect the tattoo from fading. Always apply sunblock whenever exposed to sunlight, even 20 yrs. from now. It will keep the tattoo bright and looking like new.

You should wait at least two weeks, and at most 3 months. Check the websites below for more information.

Yup! Just make sure you use sunscreen on your tattoo to prevent sun damage.

If it has completely healed, yes, if not...put a lot of vasiline on it before you plan on getting in the water and try your best not to get it wet....only pat it dry though.

Put loads of sunblock on it. Sun exposure is bad for tattoos. It will fade them quicker. Maybe wear a sock....

If you put lots of sunscreen on, or make sure you put on a good waterproof bandage.
