I wouldn't call it the most shocking heavyweight moment, but, I did list it as one of the greatest heavyweight KO's ever on this very site. It was certainly an unforgettable moment for those of us who saw it go down. Nice to see someone recognized one of the greatest moments in the history of boxing. I love showing the fight to many of my fighters so that they understand the importance of defense "AT ALL TIMES"!

My number 1 most shocking moment is Douglas knocking out Tyson!
Ali was a great Boxer-The Greatest Heavyweight Champion of all time-I truly believe this! so I wasn't too shocked that he was able to beat Foreman.
The Weaver/Tate fight has to be #2 on my all time most shocking moments in boxing history's list.
I was only around 7 or 8 years old when I saw that fight!- Not really old enough to appreciate who both fighters were and where they stood in their careers at the time.
But I watched the entire fight, and at the end of that last round-wham!- what I thought was a short not very powerful punch at the time, floored Goliath!
I stood in utter amazement the huge guy had been dominating the small guy the entire fight.
And then like bolt of lightning the punch landed, Big John Tate was knocked out-cold.
Of course in my adult life I came to the understanding that any short hook on the inside can be devastating!
I will never forget it, and frequently talk about it when discussing the fight game and the history!

i sense that John Tate replaced into an fairly aggressive and a experienced boxer that replaced into being dealt with calmly basically because he replaced into defeated by some unknown guy in an ungainly effect. John Tate might want to pass obtainable, supply web page the hardship such as his better good hand, and initiative to take down web page. in the intervening time web page replaced into also a ability-puncher, with out any stability in any respect, because of the very incontrovertible truth that the guy's body replaced into no longer construct for that. He replaced into the an previous guy's George Foreman form of a boxer, yet with out body coordination, higher stability, and many extra. i pass with John Tate in this one by a KO, in round variety: 3-5.

I would'nt say most shocking but u could hear a pin drop when Tate went down. If Weaver had a chin he could have been a champion for a long time but it was an exsplosive ending.

Actually Tate won 14 rounds and 2 minutes 45 seconds of the 15th round. I was surprised, but since I really don't think much of either boxer's ability it did not bother me.

Not the most shocking, maybe in the top ten, considering that many were looking forward to a Tate-Holmes showdown down the road.Weaver killed that with a beautiful punch.

Not number one but it's got to be in the top ten. Overall shock value to me goes to the man himself on two seperate occasions one when Ali knockout the so called unbeatable Big George Forman after the Rope a Dope, and of course "Down Goes Fraizer" Ali was the man!!!!!!

That fight was the boxing equivalent of the 2004 Red Sox in the ALCS. Just when you thought they were done.....
