The plane ride is easy. You'll get your seat. Be comfortable and get a great ride across the U.S. No don't worry. I've been on probably a 1000 planes. (my dad helped design them for the military in WW2). I never worry about flying at all. It's the cars on the road I worry about. Just relax, enjoy the view.
Once you get there.. then start to worry. You will be yelled at and expected to do what they want done immediately. But at the end you will congratulate yourself.
Blessings

If you are going to Lackland, expect it to be HOT!!! I went to basic on the 11th of April 1994 (yeah yeah I am sooo old) anyway it was HOT then. I also was stationed at Lackland for a long time... anyway, when you 1st get there (unless things have change dramatically) you will at the airport and put in this area where you can use the phone ect.... then some one will come and put you on a bus and take you to base. when you get to base expect A LOT of yelling, just dont look anyone in the eyes look straight ahead and everything is "Yes/No sir/ma'am" The 1st few days you are called a Rainbow because you will be in civilian clothes (everyone in different colors, its not a sexual orientation jab) till you get your BDU's. You'll be in a Training Squadron the people (other trainees) is now your "Flight" and the row that you will be sleeping in that is your "Element" (u'll get it when you see it) anyway if you are the shortest dude there you will be the automatic guide person (one who holds the flight flag... not a fun job, thank god I didnt have to do it) You will march EVERYWHERE, you wont do anything unless you are told. You will learn to do just about everything at once. Brush your teeth WHILE taking a shower (I still do it) If I remember right, we didnt run everyday. THE absolute worst thing you can do, if mess up while on *****DORM GUARD****** This is very important task that everyone will have to do once or twice while in basic. You stand at the door of the Dorm (inside the dorm, not outside) and when some one comes to the dorm you say "Dorm guard, dorm (whatever your dorm is) how may I help you" amd sometimes they try and screw with you and yell and their goal is to get you to open the door without you 1) CHECKING THEIR ID 2) CHecking their name on a roster (they maybe another T.I) the best thing to do is BE CALM everything about basic is doing it FAST, CALMLY and RIGHT!!! After a few weeks it actually becomes FUN. If you play an instrument you can join Band and Bugle (or something like that) some say that their basic is easier. Another thing never to do is get sick, if you get sick and you are not dying DO NOT GO TO THE CLINIC. you can get "washed back" which means you missed time with your flight and now arent where they are in training and then you have to go to a new flight re doing things you may have already done. Anyway I think I said enough, if you have more ??? let me know. My hand is cramped and I cant type anymore SORRY :) :) :) good luck

You joined the Air Force and you've never been on a plane? Of course I did go through parachute school with a man who had never flown before. I also think basic training was the first time he ever wore shoes before as well...
Expect to not get any sleep for the next six weeks.
Expect to be constantly confused and not know what is going on.
Expect to push yourself where you've never been before.
Expect others to expect more out of you than you thought possible.
Expect to live each day one day at a time. Do not think about yesterday. Do not think about tomorrow. Think about right now.
Expect to be totally exhausted beyond belief and then find the energy to do more.
Expect that the people who are yelling the loudest at you are there to help make you the best possible at being an airman.
Expect to have fun.
Expect the worst day of your life. Expect the best day of your life. It may be the same day. It may be your first day.
Expect to feel like you won't be able to make it.
Expect to know that millions of others have gone through the same thing and have made it.
Expect that you will make it too.

First off - start a running program of 1-2 miles / 2-3 times a week / do pushups for 1 minute / sit-ups for 1 minute

4) Start learning your different ranks both Officer and Enlisted
5) Listen to what the TI tells you / their will be nightly evening briefs for the next days activities / day starts at 0500 or sooner
6) Expect alot of classes / they give you a training manual study guide - your head will be in that manual whenever you have down time
7) Open showers / Bathroom Stalls / Urinals / Sinks
8) 1 wall locker with 1 clothing drawer &1 security drawer

I evaluate it relies upon how a methods away MEPs is from you. that's been a lengthy time period pondering I went, yet i do no longer overlook I did stay in a hotel, inspite of the indisputable fact that it replaced into also an hour far flung from the position I lived. The hotel had a army liaison embedded interior the motel. also, the recruiter drove me there. Your recruiter should be placing you up with all this.
