Try fish oil.. there are also certain "blends" that help with arthritis. Check out Petco, ask your vet, go online, etc. Good luck! :o)

We had a Bichon Frise who got so very crippled many years
after we'd had her. And we took her to a new vet who was
trying a new medication at the time, called, Banamine. I'm
not sure if this is the correct spelling. But it snapped her out
of a very bad situation, as an emergency vet, one day before
said we should have her put down. And we weren't ready to
accept that. Nor his sky high fee for the emergency. So the
new young vet at the Companion Pet Clinic recommended
this drug, and it worked like a miracle. It allowed our dog to
live a normal life for about seven more years without any
problems, til her last year when she really couldn't get around
any longer. I know there are many other products available,
but I'd still go with the one we used, since we saw overnight
success.

I had a pitbull which had arthritis in his back legs. This stuff helped him out pretty good. At first he kept hopping on 3 legs but after a few days the dog got around pretty near normal.

He was on it for 5 years before we had to put him down at the age of 13 because of liver tumors. I heard that can be a side effect of this stuff but it did make the last 5 years of his life much better and 13 years is a pretty long lifespan for that breed.

My mum has a dog with arthritis and she gives it the bone and joint food called Glucosamine which is for humans and can be brought from a health food shop or chemist. The dog has been having one tablet a day and has improved a great deal. When she miss's her dose she gets bad again, otherwise there are no complications giving a dog this. Cheers and good luck.

My friend has two border collies one lived to 16 and the other is currently 15. She swears by this product.
Synovi G3 is the best product we know for encouraging mental alertness in geriatric dogs, reducing joint pain, maintaining joint mobility and assisting muscular strength.

G3 granules are preferable to Synovi G3 Tablets or Synovi G3 Soft Chews, because the granules contain ten times more of the Omega 3 fatty acids DHA & EPA. If you want to avoid the hassle of multiple supplements, use Synovi G3 Granules. If you want to go to a little more trouble and do the best possible job, use any of the Synovi G3 products plus additional Omega 3s from fish oil capsules or cod liver oil.

Try giving her half of a baby aspirin, or a quarter of one depending on the size of your dog. This really helped my poodle. The best way I found to give it to her was to crush it up in a spoon and add water before I fed it to her. You should only medicate her once a day.

No one here can tell you what is best for your dog...talk to your vet..they can give different meds and find one that helps and is best for your dog.
