Hobbies and interests are obviously good ideas for the basis of your theme. I don't think you needed a bunch of strangers to tell you that. An alternative to picking "guitars" or "basketball" as your theme would be just going with a color you like. Blue, for example. You could paint the focal point wall in the room in an interesting way. Take a paint chip from the store with your favorite color of blue on it. It will likely have 3 or 4 tones of that same color on one paint chip. Tape off that wall in 3 or 4 horizontal bands using painter's tape. Then paint the darkest color of blue on the bottom and then the next lighter one on top of that and so on. Put your bed on that wall, add some "cool" nightstands and lamps on either side, and it would look great. Check out posters at www.art.com or www.allposters.com and add a couple that you like. You can frame them with off the shelf large frames. Again I don't think you necessarily need a ''theme." Color, personal photos, comforter, desk, rug...all can make a modern room you'd like.

Heh, you are 19 and soon enough you will likely have a girlfriend/wife etc. and you will get some input but why "decorate" now? Make it your one and only and LAST bachelor pad! Get a big, even ugly, TV. Put whatever you want to on the walls- whatever you are into- ski board for example because you won't always get to do that. Well when you get a fantastic job you may have a guy's basement or garage you can decorate anyway you want...so TAKE advantage of your freedom NOW!!!! LOL

Your very favorite TOP NUMBER ONE thing. NO! WAIT! Your Mom might object to that! Make it your number two thing. In other words, whatever interests and excites you most, but short of getting you kicked out of the house if you are at home, or kicked out of school if you are at college. If you're in the service---well just don't get on you CO's bad side.

its is probally the most personal question ever.... what do you want your room to be themed as? your gonna be living in there. If you ask that here and you get responsed like nascar, you might hate it.... theme it to something you will feel happy in, something that you wont get tired of, youll be living there.

Figure out your interests which you could then apply, and colors that make you feel comfortable...................bedrooms are best in a peaceful atmosphere. I like the idea mentioned of music - that is really soothing also.
Happy Decorating!
