Obviously I know he knew it while he was in Heaven, but when he was made "man" did he have to learn it like all the rest of us.

Wow, Moon. Smart question! Guess what, we know the answer too!

Jesus, like all people, was born a baby without the benefit of perfect knowledge. He had to learn things, just like all mortals. (He really does understand what we go through.) The Bible tells us this in Luke 2:40: "...the child [Jesus] grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him." So we know from the Bible that he grew both spiritually and "filled with Wisdom" rather than just having it already.

In Luke 2, we are then told about Jesus at the temple, where by the age of 12 He already knew that He was the Son of God. But then in verse 52 it tells us: "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."

So let's be clear. The Bible tells us here, again, that Jesus increased in wisdom as he grew older and grew "in favour with God."

Because we know that Jesus is not only the Son of God, but God the Son, we tend to forget that He was in fact fully mortal as well. He passed through the same experiences we did. He had to learn much the same we did, including reading the Old Testament. He even had to grow in favour with God according to the above verse. (Ponder that for a moment. It will blow your mind!) He was both fully Divine and fully mortal man. It could have been no other way.

Furthermore we know that Jesus did not quote the OT in the original Hebrew, but rather quoted the Septuagint, which is a Greek and sometimes poor translation of the OT that was popular in His day. (Though I own a copy translated into English and find it quite helpful, personally.)

So if Jesus had learned the OT without reading it, why would he quote the Greek translation including, in many cases, mistranslations from it. The fact is that Jesus and His followers never did care that much about how accurate the translation was. They just used what was available.

Interesting question. I am guessing that Jesus learned his Torah with all the other Jewish kids.

Whats most interesting about that is that HE chose NOT to practice the "old time religion" because he thought it was outdated. He taught NEW ideas that really ticked off the traditional Jewish elders.

If Jesus HAD been following the Old Testament "as if" it were the "LITERAL WORD OF GOD", like Fundamentalist Christian try and jam down our throats today, then Jesus would have been just another Rabbi teaching the same old stuff.

HE rejected it and taught his new ideas. So please explain why "followers" of Jesus, don't follow HIM literally and reject the old book too?

I'm sure he read it when he was a child. His earthly parents would have also read it to him and taken him the synagogues to listen in to the priests.
When he was baptized in the Jordan River, he finally remembered everything that he and his Father, Jehovah, had done when they were in heaven. That's why he could answer questions given to him by his disciples.

He read it and studied it. That is why at the age of 12 he was already blowing away priests in the temple with his knowledge. He was destined to know it. He didn't have the knowledge prior to his study, just the urge to find it. That was one of His "true man" traits.

This question is more complex than quantum physics. Was Jesus actually God in a man's body? If so, he probably knew it. If he was just the son of God, he could've known it but might of had to read it. If he was Joseph's kid, he was a helluva talker and convinced people he was the messiah for the next 2000 yrs. SOOOOOO, which is it?

In first century Israel, it was made a law that boys went to school from the age of 6-13, so Jesus went to school and he learned the Torah.
Why?

Deut. 11:18-23 "Therefore shall ye lay up these My Words in your heart and in your soul, and bind Them for a sign upon your hand, that They may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach Them to your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

Well, if Jesus existed as a person, and was born into a jewish family, then definitely he would have been exposed to the oral traditions of the Torah.
