Mostly to convince, but I do both.
Why are you here, 'answerman'?? ... your name does not suggest it relates to learning.

Its not a fact of learning, its a fact of repecting other people's thoughts and other religions. I notice that alot of Christians, or even people who are really religious, talk down to people because they are athiests or muslims or buhddists. Also I have seen alot of Christians push their religion on people, which isn't right. I am a Christian, but I try my best to listen to what others have to say. I try to see both sides of the coin. Unless someone comes at me stupidly. If they tell me what I believe is wrong I get on the defensive and hold my head up and defend my religion like no tomorrow. Word your questions right and maybe you will get good answers.

How ironic it is that YOU think you have all the answers for those of us who believe in a Deity and that He sent us His Son to save from our ongoing evil desires and sins. I for one do not try to "convince" anyone to believe the way I do. I convince them in the knowledge that I led an evil life style yet turned from that way of life so that I may follow Him and that by telling of my past in turn may influence them, or "convince them" that this too may be a change they need in their heart. And you speak of reason as if YOU are the one that has the reason for life...that is from your own perspective and not one that reflects many others who have turned from a life of self gratification to one of service for others. Jesus is the REASON for who I am today and if He wasn't, then I would probably already be dead. Thank God for loving and patient friends who prayed over me for years. I do not know where you stand but I am sure some day it will come to you as to what all the talk was about. I shall keep you in thoughts to God as you seek the reasoning of your own life through this age.

u cant convice someone if u did u will boast u saved a soul we can only tell and share but we cannot convice.convincing someone belongs to GOD and frankly u cannot share or tell without GOD too. and i dont mind learning here.

JESUS loves you.Have u recieved JESUS for the forgiveness of your sins?

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with the blood JESUS shed on the cross.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

I am here to learn. I don't feel compelled to convince people one way or another regarding my beliefs. However, if a question is asked, I'll attempt to explain what I believe and why. I reserve the right to give my personal opinion, and others have the right to accept it or not.

Im sorry but its all whom you encounter. Like myself im a Christian right, BUT i dont shove any thing down anyone elses throats because im laid back and i respect other peoples choices. It all depends on where you are and how strongly some people take to there beliefs. Honestly bro some people are just NUTTERS out there but we arent all like that. Dont judge till youve met every christian and then once you do that by all means judge away my friend.

Many Christians do go a little overboard at trying to convert others. The Bible does say that we should minister to others, and I guess that is where they get it from. Me, I am here to learn as well as share.

Neither. I am here to pass along what God has told me he wants people to know. Three things:

1. All worship is acceptable to God because he looks at their heart for their purpose.

2. The primary requirement of salvation is a personal 24/7 relationship with God.

3. I am not to tell other people what to believe or how to worship.

Good question. I have been getting e-mails from "Reverent Reflections" and I have asked her to stop e-mailing me. Apparently she read a question of mine on here and has decided to "save" me. I have asked her to learn about my religion more then we can talk intelligently. So far it is like talking to a brick wall. In my last e-mail she misquoted me and downright lied about things I am supposed to have said. Maybe she has me confused with someone else. From my experience with this christian I would have to say that christians are definitly NOT here to learn! Thanks and Blessings.

Neither.

You are free to think what you want to think. And I am free to think what I want to think.

In any conversation you state your point of view and I state mine. That's what a conversation is.

If I say Janie is wearing a pretty blue hat, you may say that isn't a pretty hat. Whose statement is more reasonable? No one's. They're some facts and some opinions (or in your words, reasoning).

No, convert you heathen spawn! Just kidding. Everyone is on there own personal walk with God. We all got a lot to learn of course, but religion is a personal choice. When it is your time to walk with God which side would you walk? I just like to walk beside when it is my time, but that could be a long ways off I hope.
