You need to take the puppy back to the vet or to another vet. Pups can get coughs for various reasons, but your puppy should not be coughing. Perhaps she caught Kennel Cough, or something else, and the vet can prescribe something for this. Then, when the vet has checked her out, again, you can try adding water to the puppy food. Our dogs always have a little water in their food, and it seems to make it easier to eat. But take the puppy to the vet, before does get serious, which is when it would be harder to treat. If she will eat nothing else until you get her there, can you get her to eat some clear soup broth, or something simple, so that she does not dehydrate? Has the vet checked for worms? If your vet is not concerned with appetite loss and a cough, a new vet would be a good idea.

get purina brand puppy chow (it is one of the best and my vet recommended it to me) soften it with a little bit of warmed puppy milk replacer. if this doesnt work, as a last resort...give her some strong sugar water, about half a cup full water with 2 heaping tablespoons of sugar, well disolved. i had a cat that quit eating...i didnt know what to do, she was near starved to death...i was told to give her sugar water, and it worked...little by little, her appetite increased til i could hardly keep up with it. once the pup starts showing an interest in food, give her WHATEVER (even if it is a few bites of people food) food she has taken an interst in. i dont mean to give her the sugar water all the time or feed her people food all the time...that half cup of sugar water will most likely last a whole day. if it goes all at once, great...you shouldnt need more. the offerings of people food, IF she is even interested in them, are only to whet her appetite. the purina puppy chow, softened with puppy milk replacer, will be the bulk of her food. she may be depressed. as a last word of advice...SEEK A SECOND OPINION...her cough isnt serious yet? and so did the vet do anything to keep it from getting serious...did the vet tell you what caused the cough? if you answered no to either or both...you REALLY NEED A NEW VET! i would never take my pets to a vet like that!....good luck with your baby.

If she likes raw why not start her on a preymodelraw diet? Their website has a lot of info. It's not too hard to feed if you have good access to meat, that includes bones and organs like brain, kidneys, liver and so on. You can also try ziwipeak or orijen. Healthiest brand out there but expensive and hard to find. But if money or location isn't an issue try it. Ziwipeak is especially appetizing according to my picky dog.. I mix a bit of the wet ziwipeak with orijen dry. Other good brands are acana, canidae, wellness core, blue wilderness, Evo, taste of the wild, Merricks, avoderm, instinct and Evangers. Royal canin is a poor quality food filled with corns, grains and byproducts..l wouldn't eat it either. Corn and grains can cause allergies and dogs and are hard to digest as well. Byproducts are categorized as anything unfit for human consumption... So get one of the other foods listed as they're all free of these disgusting ingredients. If you go with kibble by the way, you should still feed the dog a raw meaty bone twice a week for dental hygiene. I love the benefits to dogs teeth when fed a raw diet, but am unable To feed a full raw diet. So on certain days ill give them a raw lamb leg or raw beef rib to clean their teeth. Never had a dog with such white teeth and healthy gums... Even my vets are impressed. Adding a raw egg, shell and all, in their kibble twice a week is also beneficial. Eggs are full of protein and other nutrients that help dogs maintain a healthy skin and coat and are just good for their overall health as well.

A 3 month old puppy should not be eating dry food alone....buy the very small bite size dry food and mix it with canned wet food. Its too hard to chew by itself. Ask the doctor for some medicine for her cough. DO NOT give her people cough medicine.

You won't be able to make her do anything. She may have worms or other internal problems.Young puppies are extremely suceptable to viruses I would take her to another vet to get a second oppinion it might be serious. My puppy did the exact same thing ,but then she got worse so we took her to the vet and by then it was too late her large intestines had grown over small intestines which decreased her appetite and the vet tried giving her fluids but her condition was too bad, which caused her to die a slow painful death. I hope I helped

Get a second opinion. Try another vet. If a cough persists it should be investigated. Just to say it is not serious yet is not good enough.

Try adding some warm water to the dry food to make it softer to chew.

Do not giver her treats, scraps or can food. Eventually, she will get hungry enough. Once she gets on a regular schedule of emptying her dish. You can give her scraps or treats in moderation or you risk her going back to her old habits.
