I do not understand. Why are Mexicans so desperate to escape from Mexico that they're tunneling under the border and jumping over the border to escape? Mexico must really be a horrible place to live.

Why do Mexicans act like they are better than the USA citizens and keep talking about taking over our country. This isn't a question about race - the USA has people of all races which is part of what makes it so beautiful. My concern is that the Mexicans are threatening to take over the USA from within and say that they are just one more step closer to their quest with this amnesty bill if it passes. How stupid can the Senate be?

There is a huge tremendous, difference between an illegal mexican in US and a criminal in US. Being illegal, does not mean that you are a criminal. And like it or not, those illegal are the ones that do the dirty works for other US legal citizens. Who's picking up garbage? Who's washing dishes; who's paying taxes; doesn't live from the Welfare; work like a horse and still find the strenght, to raise children that don't do drugs, sell pot or hero? Those are the illegal immigrants in US.

And, Mexico is not a horrible place. It is just a place as many other in Latin and South America, or East Europe or Afrika, where it is difficult to live a normal life, just because the system does not help you out... if you don't have lots of money, you can live a decent life in those countries. What would US citizens do, especially low income class individuals, without the food stamps, the welfare, the SS monthly check in the mail?

So who are the real criminals here?.. Of course, as in any country and among any culture, there is good and evil. Therefore, among those illegals there are good people and criminals. The solution? Very easy: you are illegal, but you worked are working hard, always respect the law; pay your bills on time, etc.? you can stay. Adjust. get a residence and keep working hard; and pay taxes. You have been arrested; in jail, committed a crime; selling drug, etc. DEPORTED immediately without appeal; and without permission to re-entry US forever. No matter if your entire family is here legal or illegal. You get a chance; you screw up; you loose. OUT.

Thoughts?

About the criminal aspect, I look at it this way...Entering this country illegally is considered a misdemeanor, that is a crime.....There are different types of criminals....People who speed, by definition are criminals! People who jaywalk, by definition are criminals....Sure some are real criminals, using fake ID's, stealing, joining gangs, etc.....But then the other side, many are just looking for jobs! They get paid under the table and some even pay taxes....

As far as leaving Mexico, they are desperate to leave, because they come from a place that doesn't even have basic housing or running water....They have such a high unemployment rate, most people can't find jobs....NAFTA really hurt the Mexican economy and put many small businesses out of business....There are no govt. sponsored agencies to help people, who are starving....

Essentially, there is no difference since both are criminals. Anyone who does something illegal is a criminal. But there is a difference in the way standard criminals and illegal immigrants are treated. The former end up in prison, and the latter enjoy the good life. Does that answer your question?

I love the Way some try to rationalize, but isn't Scooter Libby
going to Prison for 2 years for an Alleged lie to an investigator. You would think if he was an illegal, he would be considered, the Backbone of this Country.

There is no difference, a crime has been committed coming here illegally, therefore they are criminals. I understand why they do it, I just don't understand why we continue to support them and let them do it. We keep making more laws that we can't and won't inforce. I believe people should support the border patrol a lot more than they do and pressure congress and the government to do the same.

There is no difference. An illegal Mexican is a criminal. Anybody who helps a criminal Mexican is also a criminal, the same as anybody else who helps other commit crimes.

Mexicans shyt up their own country and leave in droves because they refuse to try to clean it up or fix the situation ... what makes you think a lot of them are not doing the same thing here in the USA? The U.S. will become a "3rd world" country in OUR lifetime ... believe it.

Then WE'LL have to sneak illegally into Canada ... and eventually they will follow us there, too.

There's no escape. Que Lastima!

depends on what the criminal did. The opportunities in the US are better than in Mexico.

There is no difference between an illegal Mexican and a criminal. I wish everyone could understand that. We cannot support the worlds poor, it isn't possible. Just like Jesus said " The poor will always be there".
