1. I am 5'5 and I weigh 134 pounds. I have a medium body frame. And apparently, my BMI is 22.5? Is this fat, or normal for my age and height. Oh, and by the way, I'm 15.

2. Am I eating too much? I thought I was pretty healthy until my friend told me I was eating too much.

Breakfast- A bowl of cereal. A glass of water.
Lunch- A peanut-butter and banana sandwich, and half of a string cheese. A glass of water.
Dinner- Two hot dogs (I normally eat one! I was kinda hungry today ^^;;) Some grapes. A glass of water.
Snack- One of those 100 calorie popcorn packs. I didn't eat the whole thing either.

That's normally the most I'd ever eat. I NORMALLY don't eat breakfast, but today I was hungry soooo........ I did.
I exercise too! Every day, I go on a 4 mile bike ride. So is that good exercise?

lets see i checked it out for you and your perfectly healthy. and no your not eating to much, your friend is delusional and apparently very jealous. you seem to be in perfect health and the fact that you go on a 4mile bike ride every day, is very impressive. i wouldn't be surprised if you had more muscle than fat, which weighs more. don't worry your in perfect health and seem to be on your way to a life of happy heart healthy decisions.

Judging from your listed height and weight, you are definitely in the healthy weight range. A BMI of 25 or over is considered to be overweight, so in that aspect you're just fine.

To be completely honest, your food choices are not bad either. As far as eating TOO much, I cannot say because I have not seen the portion sizes that you take. Making slight changes can make all the difference. For example, when you go to get your cereal in the morning, make sure you are not reaching for the sugary, chocolatey stuff. Also, measure out the amount you are taking so that you are only taking the serving size that is listed on the side of the box. For dinner, if you are going to have hot dogs, maybe get the Fat Free Oscar Meyer hot dogs and put mustard on them instead of ketchup to save calories.

It looks as if you're doing fine and you exercise, which is a huge plus! Don't get down on yourself! You're only 15 and you really don't have much to worry about from the looks of things. : )

You're being too hard on yourself. Your diet sounds fine, maybe a bit too sparse. What's wrong with drinking some juice in the a.m? And for lunch, how about some low fat or reduced fat milk? I'd exchange the hotdogs for some chicken; and about the popcorn. If you can enjoy the kind without the addes buttery-stuff it's better for you. Make the plain popcorn and add grated cheese yourself. If you FEEL healthy, chances are you are fine. And biking is good exercise. what isn't good is getting stressed out about such things. Just approach the subject calmly.

Where's the milk? Milk is good for your bones. You need some lean protein-fish or chicken and vegetables. Hot dogs are full of additives. More fresh fruit like citrus and berries are good and are rich in vitamins.

Exercise every day for a minimum of 30 minutes to tone muscles. Bike riding is good aerobic exercise.

You're not fat. Count the calories. It doesn't seem like a lot, but watch the portion size.

I'm not really sure about if your BMI is normal, but if you want a tip...women who eat breakfast regularly are actually thinner and healthier than women who skip it. Sorry I don't have a source for you, but I have heard t from several different places. And honey, don't worry so much. As long as you're eating healthy and getting your exercise, your body will take care of itself.

It's not the amount of food you consume, it's the kind of food you eat!! hot dogs?? pop corn?? and you probably don;t exercise cus you didn't mention it. Exercise!, Eat more veggies, more fish, and chicken instead of pork, which is gross by the way. Eat breakfast every single day!!! a bowl of hot oatmeal gives you energy, nutrients, and helps you control your weight. Drink more water too. Avoid starchy foods( rice, bread, etc)

normal BMI ranges from 18.5-24.9. you are fine. before i got pregnant, i was 5'5" 130 pounds and the doctors said i had a perfect weight. that doesn't mean you need to lose 4 pounds though. you're not eating too much and as long as you keep making healthy food choices and drinking lots of water, you're doing great. eating breakfast everyday is important; too many people skip it nowadays. it's best to eat small meals every couple of hours to keep from getting hungry instead of 2 or 3 huge meals a day.

your friend is probably one of those girls who obsess over pictures of underweight models in magazines and compares herself to them. she needs to follow your example.

It would be much healthier if you included breakfast on a regular basis and get rid of the hot dogs (eat something healthier for dinner). Other than that, you are doing fine.

Here is a sample meal plan:

I think your friend is anorexic to think that you eat alot. And going on a four mile bike ride is great. I think you sound healthy, but don't just take my word for it. If you really are concerned about it, you could talk to your school nurse, or doctor, but I think your friend is exagerating.
