The Iraqis sure think that God is backing them, and Bush definitely thinks he's cheering us on so who's right? I mean they can't both be. I'm just looking for a general idea because I guess the only way to know for sure is to see who ends up winning the war and who has their country down the shi**er. I really don't know because I'm an atheist but I'm curios about religious ideals. I really don't mean any offense by it.

I'll answer this with a quote from two historical figures.
1: from Voltaire

" God is always on the side with the heaviest battallions! "

2: from Christiaan Huygens

" How vast those orbs must be and how inconsiderable this Earth, the theater upon which all our mighty designs, all our navigations, and all our wars are transacted, is when compared to them. A very fit consideration and matter of reflection, for those kings and princes who sacrifice the lives of so many people, only to flatter their ambition in being masters of some pitiful corner of this small spot."

I don't believe God gets involved with wars that would be in keeping with the gift of free will he has given us not to say that God in the past may have made some moves going into one person's favor and i am only talking about world war 2. the other wars i don't think he involves himself on either side but concerns with looking over the people who the war is effecting from an injured soldier to a conflicted soldier to a civillian caught up in martial law to families at home waiting on thier loved ones and to the leadership but i don't think God takes out an opinion to saying who is right or wrong and i would wish both sides would leave God out of it espeacially Bush I mean when is the last time you think he even set foot in a church...probably his last AA meeting

I believe the whole war makes God incredibly sad and that He is not supportive of either side. I do believe that He cares about each and every human being involved in it and will likely step in when He sees fit to help people on either side who He believes has their heart in the right place or who He knows can benefit from His assistance. With God, He is not so concerned with the outcome WE desire, but with the outcome that brings about His will in the long run. Because war involves killing, plotting and scheming, as well as hatred for some, I truly don't believe that God is backing this war one single bit, even if He does step in on both sides when He wishes to.

To be honest, in the Bible in which the majority respect as God's word, Israel are the people that God backs. In the bible Israel is the people that god has made promises to protect them if they would obey Him. The United States isn't in the scripture at all.

Victory in this will not determine the real God either, biblical prophecy says, Israel will turn there backs on God and loose to there enemy. Then they will turn back to God and he will smite there enemy. Israel are the chosen people of God, not the U.S.

Well? Jesus wants Iraqis to be healed. Jesus wants to save them from their sins. Jesus wants freedoms for His Children in Iraq.

I am 100% sure that God isn't on the side of the terrorist. At least the Christian God isn't.

Just to clarify for you, the war is not against the Iraqis. It is against the terrorist stronghold. Many Iraqis are living in Syria until the war is over.

The Lord is definitely on the side of Israel, and in a short matter of time...the world will see just how much He loves Israel. Read Ezekiel and Daniel.

I don't remember God expressing a choice. People use God as a justification to their own deeds. I am Buddhist but there are militant Buddhists too (Buddhism is a pacifistic religion), so In Sri Lanka, people are dying in the name of.....It is not religion to blame but politics but religion is the scapegoat.

Blatantly God wants the Iraqis to win! I bet he is cheering them on now as we speak.

The German Wehrmacht, during World War II, had "Gott Mit Uns" ("God is With Us") on their belt buckles, as they ravaged Europe and Russia, helping the SS round up Jews, gypsies, and others who died in the camps. Nearly every army thinks they have gods on their side.
