when you leave is contingent upon when your A school starts. you have to juggle the rating you want with the timeframe you want. Itmay or may not be doable.

My stepson, for instance.. wants Aviation/aircrew. he graduates next weekend, but he cannot ship until November. he could have shipped sooner, but he wanted to do one last go round with summer Camp and whatnot.

This is why this site is retarded. People don't know what they are talking about. Your recruiter is NOT going to know when you will ship out. When you go to MEPS, take your physical, pass a drug test, etc, you will pick the job you want, and they will tell you what shipdate(s) are available, if any. The job you may want could be full, in which case, well, sorry.

Then, and only then, will you find out when you leave for boot... it's not "one group goes at the same time"

Right after boot camp, you have to go to your tech school. Meaning you graduate boot, get a day or two off, and begin training. Boot camp is always running all year, but certain jobs might only have 1-2 tech schools per year, meaning you would have to start boot 2 months before that tech school.

Make sense?

when you go to meps and enlist they'll give you an option of certain dates you can go, depending on your mos and start dates for your ait class. September being only a few months away is really reasonable, you shouldn't have any problem leaving around this time. Just make sure your recruiter is away of the time frame that you wanna leave. If they are short on slots for the mos you want, you may end up getting stuck with whatever dates they have availible, you could always chose a different mos that allows you to leave at the date you want, I wouldn't reccomend that though. The most important thing is getting the job you want. Good luck and god bless bro.

You can be in the DEP anywhere from 10 days up until 365 days depending on the job you choose or are given and when the training starts for that job, work with the recruiter to try and leave when you want but you may not have a choice

definite you will gets a commission. advantages comprise the GI bill, well being care, activity secure practices(till you decrease to rubble), and a existence changing time. human beings say oh yea you wont see your loved ones alot and that's authentic yet no longer too plenty. You do get time without work and you'd be away. you will setting up yet you will come domicile no remember what happens. in the previous you sign your settlement you will additionally get to chosen a place you opt for to have a job interview at. Tou can get Cali highway patrol whilst as quickly as your settlement is up you get an interview and via bypass all the needs. this is quite worth it.

It depends on how many openings there are. Sometimes you can leave the week after you enter the Delayed Entry Program. But you can be delayed from entry up to one year at your request (and if possible). They'll tell you what's available at MEPS.

EDIT: It is not the decision of the recruiters -- if you need to be delayed for a specific period of time, they pass that up the chain of command. You can speak to the recruiter about it, but the approval will come from his/her superiors.

Recruiters don't generally like to let you "choose" the time you leave. the longer you wait, the more of a chance you have to change your mind. My suggestion would be wait until August or so to go in and sign the paperwork. I went in on a Wednesday, took the test on Thursday and left for boot camp on Friday..........worked for me, but not for everyone!

Well once you enlist like I am you will end up going to meps. You will choice the day you want to leave but the day various depend on the rating(job) you choice but personally from me to you bootcamp is piece of cake You just kind of homesick if its the first time being away from family like It was for me.

Talk to your recruiter. MANY things affect when you might need to leave for boot, including the job you want to do while you're serving in the military and when seats are opening up for the school that teaches that skill... you'll need to complete boot camp in time to fill that seat...

For instance, for the seat my son needed to fill in C-school, he had to leave for boot camp no later than July 28th the year he went...

I'm reasonably sure if you talk to your recruiter he will let you wait until that time to leave. He may try and pressure you into leaving earlier but if you stick to your guns you can get exactly what you want.
