My cat is about 7 or 8 months old. She has a big belly and when you look from the top and the sides, it seems round. Her nipples got larger and look like filled with milk! But I'm not sure if she is really pregnant or not!! I don't want to take her to the vet because I am afraid that they will give her an abortion... I need help! How can I tell for sure!! And can you give me websites with pictures of pregnant cats so I can tell for myself? Thanks for your answers...

NOTE: THIS IS A SERIOUS QUESTION AND ONLY SERIOUS AND INFORMATIVE ANSWERS WILL BE APPRECIATED.

They won't abort her litter if you tell them not to, but you should have it done. Being sentimental now won't help kittens that have no homes or end up neglected or abused. Can you guarantee happiness and health for her entire litter? No, no-one could. If you're thinking of taking the kittens to a shelter, forget it. They are all full. You'll be saving lives by getting the abortion, not ending them. I've seen so many kittens that have been abandoned and abused, you can't imagine. When you've seen an abandoned kitten screaming in the freezing rain in January and too scared to be picked up or even trapped, then you can tell me that it's wrong to abort a cat's unwanted litter. Not to mention that giving birth is a strain on the mother cats health and if it's not necessary, she shouldn't have to go through it. Especially because she's too young. At her age, chances are very good that it won't be a succesfull birth and she'll develop complications. I had a cat die that I rescued right before she gave birth. Your cat might not even take care of her litter, as young as she is. That's very common. Take her in, get her aborted and spayed. If it's not too late for it already. And that's as serious and informative as you can ever get.

btw, I think your cat's pregnant.

Has her temper changed. Some animals, like humans, have mood swings during pregnancy. If she is pretty far along you'll be able to feel the kittens moving around even see them when you cat is laying down. A vet will not give your cat an abortion. Cats can give birth easily with little to no help.Right before a cat goes into labor they will cry like you have never heard her cry before. She'll probably walk circles around your house looking for a comfortable place to lie down. If she is pregnant have a box ready with a soft blanket in it.She'll probably enjoy your company but try not to touch her too much.Laboring animals can be cranky. If your still worried ask your vet for advice. That is your best source for info.

which would be worse, them aborting her, or her dying while delivering???

yes you can spay a pregnant cat - aborting her litter at that time and over all its the most humane option.

a vet would carefully feel for kittens inside, if you try this on your own you could actually injure her or the kittens (this is external exam).

remember that every year over 2 million kittens are euthanized, even if your kittens live and find homes, that means somebody elses kittens did not. Soooo for the health of your cat, have her spayed.

The vet will be able to answer that for you.
While you are there you should get your cat spayed. Cats live longer and healthier when fixed. Every time your cat goes into heat or get pregnant it breaks down their immune system. They have a better chance of getting cancer when they are not altered. There are many benefits to it besides there are enough kittens being killed at the shelters because there is not enough homes thanks to people like you.

It's OK to gift the cat with a great bowl of milk if they've a well sport, but when they pass zero for four or make an blunders, cause them to drink water and handiest deliver them part in their kibbles. It's the one method they will gain knowledge of.

Try feeling of her tummy and if she is lumpy then most likely she is pregnant. Cat can go into heat as early as 6 months and you may not even see or notice it. that happend to me and now i have 5 babies, from two moms.

yes she is probably pregnant. why wont you take her to the vet and get her fixed? its better for her because she is so young! you dont want her to go through birth and die from problems. even if you go to the vet, you can deny the abortion... which personaly i dont think you should do, just because of the amount of cats euthanized daily in shelters.

First of all...no such thing as a cat abortion....yes, you can spay her while pregnant...but they remove the whole uterus...not just the kittens. You obviously don't know much about cats as if you did you would have been responsible and gotten your cat spayed...or at least not let her roam outside until she was spayed. Do us all a favor and spay your cat!! And please educate yourself.
