Where can I buy an EMF detector or Gauss meter?

I know that I can find them on e-bay and online stores. I want to know if there is an acutaly store where I can walk in and purchase a new meter. Does anyone know where I should look? Do you think a home improvement or an electronics store might have one?

Unfortunately, they are a specialty item. Not too many people going around measuring the earth's electromagnetic field.
