No matter where I go, everyone is so closed minded about religion. If you say something that's not in the bible that has to do with religion, they get mad at you. Why do they make such a big deal out of it?

Because many people no matter what country you go to, take their religious faith very seriously. And rightly so. Faith is a serious matter. I find it ironic that you single out Christians, because it's not just Christians, but also Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc.

Perhaps this is just another vain attempt to discredit Christianity yet again. Let the Christian-bashing begin.

Because "religion is the opium/hashes of the people".No, I am Just kidding. Well, religion is just a faith. When you ask logical question which needs reasonable/scientific answer, some people will be offended or angry. By the way, to be angry is a defensive mechanism to cover some ones own weakness. Some people don't want to be seen as an ignorant. However, based with the Christian's faith, you need to believe and follow blindly what ever you read in the bible. I guess, it is the same with others religion too.

Those who believe the Bible is the Word of God realize that where you spend eternity IS of the utmost importance. I try not to be defensive in these situations & to offer reason, explanation, &/or proof, but to be totally candid it can be hard to not get emotional & defensive with the way some of the questions are worded. I hope I have answered your question with out offending you.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
Revelation 22:18-19 - "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."
1 Peter 3:14-16 - "But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame."

your avatar is hot !!! It is a difficult thing to talk about something pertaining to religion and not sound offensive or mocking. It is just a sensitive issue and consideration should be shown when speaking about it. I work with all women and if I say anything that implies that a man is better at something than a woman, I know to expect bad, angry feedback because that is something they are sensitive about. It is human to be defensive about things you care about.

The Lord tells us, " Guard your heart with all diligence." Satan is constantly " on the attack" for our souls, especially if you are a Christian! Religion is a big deal because it's not Christianity. It is based on man-made beliefs for that particular denomination. Christianity is based on God's standards---not man's. So yes, guard your heart or you will slip away. Blessings to you as you seek God's ways.

I do not know. I do not believe in Religion. Is God going to put the Baptist in one area. Then the Catholic in the other and so on. No God does not do that. That is the reason I do not believe in religion.

People can, and do, kill others and die for their religion. There is nothing that some people take more seriously than their religion.
Therefore, even those who are not religious need to take religion seriously, because it can lead people to do things that have consequences for all of us.

The Bible is THE source of what we believe is true. This is why we get a little defensive.
