A clean title is one without a salvage brand, or other problems. A clear title has no liens, meaning that there is no money owed on the vehicle. Some people use clear and clean interchangeably.

A clean title does not mean that the car has not been damaged and repaired, it just means that there is no record or major damage attached to the title.

but even if it has a clean title doesnt mean its never been in a wreck. Salvage title cars have been in serious mishaps. But saying that i would never buy a car unless it had a clean title. Its very hard to sell a car with a salvage title.

It means there are no security interests on the title. In other words, the owner doesn't owe money to someone or a loan company with a lien on the title.

It means there are no lien holders on the vehicle. That is, the car wasnt financed by anyone, therefore, you have the right to sell (or wreck) the car and no one else has rights to it. In otherwords, it's paid in full.

It means that the car is not a salvage (hasn't been involved in flood, fire, etc.)

It still could have been in an accident, but it wasn't one that involved the car be re-built.

in case you have the bill of sale with the final date, and the call with the incorrect date- won't be able to you carry it to motorcar Dept and clarify? How 'incorrect' is the date? i think of in case you alter the date, and preliminary the substitute (with the previous proprietor's initials besides), this could be ok. motorcar Dept on your state will know what to do. good success-- what a undertaking!
