get your parent to call your Dr. tomorrow. You may need medication or a change in medication. It's not your fault you know, it's a sickness. You need help from a Dr to control the effects. Best wishes to you.

OCD, or obsessive compulsive disorder is related somewhat to another condition called Tourette's Syndrome, the symptoms of which are similar to that of OCD. Tourette's manifests itself by tics, which are involuntary neuromuscular movements, such as blinking, head-bobbing, sniffing, neck-twisting, and other eye, mouth and head movements. It is also characterized by blurting out certain words. The victims of these disorders cannot control the compulsive behaviors that OCD and Tourettes inflict on them, and only when they follow the compulsions, are they able to relax -- at least for a moment, and then the compulsions start all over again.
Your doctor is partly correct, in that some people outgrow the behavior; whereas others continue it, or it can get worse. However, there are medications and treatments that help control the condition. If you don't improve when you get older, you should see a neurologist, a doctor who is especially trained to treat OCD and Tourettes. These conditions usually strike children between the ages of eight and fifteen. It is not serious or life-threatening, but is a source of annoyance and can be a detriment in one's social life, unless the victim has a good support system, and friends who understand the condition and not make fun of him or her. Have your parents take you to a specialist so you can get some help if your condition becomes worse. In the meantime, you can train yourself to control these urges. It's not easy, but it can be done. Good luck, hon.
