I'm a musician. I only started performing in front of a stage..One time recently,I was very nervous and I feel like I screwed up one of my songs..Even though my friends really thought all of my songs were great,I'm a perfectionist and to me,I was not satisfied with my performance..And I'm only trying to please myself with my songs, with my stage performances..
I don't care what others think, only I worry that I will not be pleasing myself..or that I will make mistakes infront of myself..
How do I get rid of stage fright? Because I was nervous last time, and for me I didn't like how I played one of my songs..
How do I get rid of this? Help!!

some people use beta-blocker, it's a medication that slows down your adrenaline which causes stage frights.
You can also use positive imaging...for example, think how happy you are to be sharing your talent with people who love you, because they love you that's why they are at your concert, because they want to hear you that's why they are there.
So, don't be afraid, performing is a joy, you should enjoy all the attention. Enjoy being a star. Think about all the good things, and you will be fine.
Stage fright is caused by nerves from negative thoughts. So, if you use positive imaging, you will be able to fool your mind into a happy state, and you will be able to turn that adrenaline into excitement and positive energy.

When I was in high school I used to become nervous be for I performed. I did musicals and I was not much of an actor, but everyone told me I had a great voice. So I would go up and do my lines and then go into my songs and let my nervous energy feed my performance.
I found that I became more comfortable the more times I was on stage, and the thrill is like nothing else in the world. Trust me I have done skydiving, rock climbing, white water rafting, repelling, and none of these can compare to the thrill of going on stage and performing. Whether I though I did good or bad I would always receive complements from members of the audience. One thing that I did discover is that I could never get rid of the feeling of stage fright, but I could control it. As long as you do not let the feeling overtake you and control you then everything will be fine. Know that at some point and time that you are going to mess up and the nice thing is that the audience will never know if you cover it and keep going. It sounds like you need to lighten up on yourself (easier said than done) and just make sure that you practice. There will be times that you will not like how you performed, but you need to ask yourself who are you performing for? The audience, or yourself. If you are doing it for yourself then why bother performing on stage.

Stage fright is common. Don't worry, it can be overcome, but it takes practice. First, of course, you have to be well prepared with your material. After that, you have to perform in front of an audience every chance you get. The more often you perform, the more relaxed you will be about it. Eventually, you realize nothing horrible is going to happen to you if you make slight mistakes. You learn that (1) few people notice, and (2) you become expert at covering your mistakes. A lot of practice will overcome your stage fright.

All right. I act and I used to shake horribly at auditions and shownights. You know what really helps me though? Is (this may sound a little strange) a shake out. I just jump around and shake out my arms and fingers and get all the nervous energy out until I'm sort of calm. I'm not sure if I personally like not being nervous though. I think it makes me better to be a little nervous.
Also just make sure you've practiced a bagillion gazillion times the way you want it to be.

The only way to get rid of it is to perform in front of people more and more. I still get a little scared when i go on stage but the more i do it the less i get scared.

Use a spotlight. You cant see the audience. Most people that are performers are perfectionists. That has been my experience anyway. Just remember that no one is perfect and that if you mess up a little keep going. Chances are that no one noticed and if they do they wont remember anyways.

I would get so nervous I would shake before I'd perfrom but then I'd just go up there and own that stage and have fun. When you do it makes it all worth while and it makes it better and no one can tell your nervous.
