What type of ceremony did you have the second time around? I know this sounds strange. I would still like to have some sort of ceremony with family and friends and perhaps a party after. Nothing fancy perhaps a pastor or JP in the backyard with a party after. Any ideas? I would really love to hear fom any one who has done this or been to one where some one is remarrying not just renewing their vows.

I can't say I know anyone who has done that, but I think a beach wedding would be nice. I think a second marriage should be small and sweet if you have already been married before. If any of your friends and family want to attend they can make it a vacation.

If you do a backyard wedding that would be really nice. I would rent a Gazebo or an arbor to stand in and do it really informal. You could get all white chairs for people to set in during your ceremony or even have them stand around. It would be really nice to just have a backyard BBQ. I am a Wedding Photographer and coordinator. I have lots of ideas. I am from the south so I don't know if you would like my southern ideas. Good luck.

Well I haven't been married yet, but I completely understand why anyone would do something like this, its called giving someone a second chance, sometimes things don't work out the first time, if you really love each other, give it another try, if it works, it works and you might reach the happily ever after, if it doesn't you'll both get the peace of mind and let it go. Also, real love is in good times and bad and not only tilll stuff gets bad then i gotta go, nope thats not the way it works, true love exists, its out there, so someone doing this isn't a mistake, its life... its all a mystery =) Good luck and God Bless.

I've heard of a handful of people doing this. Personally I find the idea of a second wedding to be kind of, well tacky. Since these people already spent time and money the first time around, it's not really right to expect them to shell out a second time. If you really want a ceremony though and not just going to the courthouse, I suggest something low key and intimate without gifts. Maybe you could just go to the courthouse and have a nice second honeymoon.

My in-laws divorced, were separated for almost three years, and then re-married. They flew to Vegas for a few days and had the ceremony while they were there. Honestly, that's what I would do - Vegas or Atlantic City, and then have a reception at a nice restaurant once you get home. Like a wedding and honeymoon rolled into one, and then the party when you get back.

my mom did. they just went to a courthouse and got it done. we didn't even know about it until it was over. personally, i wouldn't invite a priest or even a jp to the house, but would go to the courthouse, get it done, and have a small party for close friends and close family only afterwards at home or a restaurant.

nope, am NOT remarrying the @ss I divorced. lol
You could do a simple ceremony at a park and have a cookout/bbq afterwards with your family. IT would be a fun day.
At least your love didnt fail you two. Its nice to see two people rekindle their broken relationship.

Liz Taylor and Richard Berton!

That was an easy one and I think they did that more than once with marriages in between.
