I agree that she is just teaching them. However, I would like to state that there are certain breeds (especially some larger breed dogs) that are separated from their mother earlier than other breeds. I brought my American Bulldog home at 5 weeks and many of the breeders I have spoken with have stated that this is an appropriate age for this particular breed. I agree that most puppies should remain with their mother and siblings until 10 - 12 weeks of age, but please don't criticize too harshly the age at which a puppy leaves the "nest" unless you are familiar with the particular breed and the situation. I do/did have other dogs at home that assisted with her "training" and socialization, but either way, as a responsible dog owner, I would have ensured she reached her potential with "play dates".

You may want to provide an area where she can go to get away from her puppies when she feels the need. She may be playing with them, teaching them, or just letting them know they are annoying her.

She is probably just teaching them what is allowed and what is not allowed. She is letting them know that she is still in charge, and she is teaching them manners. I am not a breeder, I don't raise puppies, but I know mom dogs do that. And this all kind of depends on HOW rough she is being. If you are worried then they are definitely old enough to be separated from their mom. You can keep them separate until you find them homes. Good Luck! I bet they are SUPER cute!

That is their way of playing with them. Sometimes it looks like they are trying to hurt their pups, but it is a way of teaching them to take care of themselves. As long as the pups are not crying in pain and you don't see any injuries, they are fine. By the way, pups should have stayed with mom for 8 weeks. This is the time when the mom is teaching them many things.

This is the reason they should stay with mom until 8 weeks seh is training them how to behave not to bite hard and seh is training them some manners.
This is very normal.

she's starting to wean them. And the little things have teeth, so trust me when i say they're getting rough with her too. It's time for them to leave her, and she knows it, so she's sort of pushing them away a bit. It's all narutal, and it's all good

Pit bulls are bred for dog fight, so it's in their blood to be aggressive and rough. Just like hyenas (very aggressive wild canines), the mom hyena bites her young pups and promotes them to fight eachother. She's training them to be rough and aggressive.

maybe she is just tired of them, specially if they are still trying to get milk from her, they must be hurting her with those little, sharp teeth, so just hurry and find them a new home.
