I've got a lot of allergies. Beginning to think my body is quite fragile.

I'm allergic to:
Latex (which has cross reactivity that causes other allergies)
Fruit and some vegetables
Tree pollen
Sulfa
Nickel

And I found out the hard way that I'm allergic to another medication now. Goody.

Yeah, my fruit allergy sucks. I have borderline high cholesterol, so I'm trying to figure out what foods I can eat. Everyone keeps saying, "Fruit is a good option!" Slightly frustrating. Especially considering I LOVE mangoes and bananas. :(

I, too, am allergic to many things. I went to the allergist, and now get allergy shots. I reacted to 34/35 things on the skin test. Hope the shots help. Check it out if your allergies become problematic.

I can empathize in a big way.

I have an allergy for every season and several in between. I have classic hay fever, am allergic to grass and rag weed quite badly in the summer, leaf mold and dust in the fall and of course dust, dust mites, mildew and every mold under the sun (have been tested for all of the above). I'm allergic to morphine, biaxin and flonase for meds. Am allergic to beef and wheat for foods. I'm also highly allergic to cigarette smoke.

What I've learned from my husband (a research scientist) is that the tendency towards this degree of allergic sensitivity was most likely set up by exposure to toxins while in the womb. My mother was a proof reader in the late 50's and ink in those days was made up of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium. They're 4 of the worst heavy metals known. They have all been found to prevent the baby's immune system from developing properly leading to lifelong allergies, asthma, autoimmune disorders and the like.

Having that many allergies and sensitivities does indeed make one feel quite fragile. It's as if you need to live in a bubble because the world is toxic for you.

penicillin and my dog

btw mine has nothing to do with growing up "too clean". I grew up with dogs, tons of barn cats and chickens in the barns. My household conditions were so deplorable that I was officially a neglected child per social services when I was a kid. We're talking moldy food on the kitchen counter, animal and baby feces in every room, beer bottles everywhere... I'm glad I got out of that sh--hole. Yeah so basically mine has nothing to do with the too clean thing guaranteed. I thought that applied more to asthma (?). Plus you can develop allergies at anytime, so who really knows for sure what all the factors are behind why we develop allergies against some substances/chemicals and not others.

Bee Stings. But, I've been stung over 20 times now and now my reactions are much less than before. You may find that over time you react less to the allergins. I'm sorry you're allergic to so many things. When I was a kid my best friend was allergic to chocolate and she was so unhappy when it was some kids birthday. She'd have to have plain cupcakes.

Iodine, all types of shellfish (which I love!), bee stings, certain types of pollen, and mean people lol. I tend to react to A LOT of different medications in the way that I am very sensitive to most decongestants and antibiotics. And last but not least, flu shots!

Welcome to the club. I am allergic to mold. SEVERELY allergic. My entire life has been controlled by this now. And the reason is that I moved to a moldy home without knowing it. I had to leave it standing and buy another house. I can't sell it. And I am very sick. Sorry for yours.

I'm not really allergic to anything, thank goodness. Just to dust. But I think many people are too.
