No. Delusion would be a good way to describe faith.
If you're optimistic in a completely unrealistic way (like, after I die, I'm not really dead, I'll be living in the clouds with my dead relatives), it's false optimism; it's delusion.

No. Optimism gets us nowhere. Faith is the evidence of things not seen, the substance of things hoped for. And faith comes from hearing the word of God. But problem is Christians think the word of God is only in the bible. But actually God still speaks directly to his children, as he always has.

possibly but you should know that though the bible has been "retold" several times. the king james version of the bible is one known to scientist as one of the best translated peices of literature of it time. it has been studied by many and its translation is accurate. and even if it wasnt accurate, if you look at what it is today you must say that dispite all the contradictions there is some wisdom in that big book

Faith can be defined as believing in something you can't see. It could be one way to describe faith. For instance when you pray for something you have to truly believe that God will grant your request.

Good question. I would say yes. There is a kind of optimism to be found in realism as well.

An optimist sees the glass half full.
A pessimist sees the glass half empty
Faith sees the glass full...drinks half and shares half with a friend.

Faith is a spiritual tangible.
