There is no question.....I am not gullible, naive or stupid,by any means.....Prayer does work....I have been witness to events that are aside from blind faith, experiencially undeniable.

I KNOW it works, the challenge is being willing to accept the will of the Lord when he instructs and having the courage to floow his answers and promptings no matter the cost. I think too often people pray for what they want. People pray to have trials taken away rather than praying for strngth through trials. I have found that prayer is the most powerful when I am indeed willing to be still and listen and wait for an answer, and then willing to obey whether it is what I want or not. If I follow as I am lead through prayer, invariably that answer will lead to more happiness and indeed more blessings from God.

Yes I disagree. From the scientific studies I have read, where there was a double blind control used, prayer did no differently than the control group (in fact it did slightly worse, but not significant (p<0.05)).
The set up: Sick patients in the hospital were randomly selected and assigned to one of 2 groups. Group 1 were prayed for by several volunteers (without the patients' knowledge). Group 2 were "thought of" by several volunteers (without the patients' knowledge). Measurement: Days to hospital discharge.

It depends on what you mean by "really work" Do you mean prayer brings things to you that you ask for? Or do you mean that throuth prayer you receive a feeling of well being and a feeling of belonging?

Indeed, prayer works! I have to agree if I answer this honestly! For me, prayer is the most powerful tool anyone can use! My favorite thing about prayer...conversation with the Lord!

i can neither agree nor disagree to this statement. i have had some of MY prayers answered. some people can easily deny this and claim that it was going to happen anyway. i guess its just a state of mind. but the more we bring up topics like this, the more aggressive the other party becomes, if you know what i mean.

Prayer works, God answers all prayers, just maybe not the way we think he should, or the way we want it to be answered.

Lee,
I believe that prayer does work. I also believe that it only works on matters of some importance, not 'winning the lottery' or 'winning back Judy's love and affection'. These things seem important to us but time passes and so do our wishes. This is my opinion - I was not taught this in church or other religious gathering.

Prayer really works, when you pray the right way.
Prayer groups have a lot of spiritual healing power for all causes.
