Wheels, engine cylinders, transmission, piston rods, valves, windows, windshield wipers, doors, steering wheel, drive shaft, et al - that is if by change direction you mean reverse direction.

If you mean change direction of movement of the car then the most dramatic thing would be the front wheels which of course control the direction in which the car moves by their change in direction.

Anywhere that has a spring device; any component that turns or spins; and all of the components, as when impacted(crashes, etc.), because of the action-reaction laws of Physics.

Engine: Pistons, valves, lifters, valve springs.
Vehicle: Steering wheel, driveshaft, shift lever, radio volume control, all switches, relays, starter drive.
And you can probably think of even more.
