I love food. I can always exercise if I eat the foods I like but if im on a diet I just hate it. I don't usually eat fast food maybe once a week. I usually eat healthy foods and one not so healthy but not junky either meal. I heard if you exercise 5 days a week you can lose up to 10 pounds in a year? Is that true? I'd like to lose a few pounds im not fat it's just I'd like to get toned up a bit. So If i brisked walked for 1 hour a day with no special diet how long will it take to lose weight and how much?

I eat about 1200-1400 calories a day I also drink water alot and no soda I wouldnt mind waiting 6 months to a year to lose those 10 pounds beause Im okay with my body.

Absolutely. You have a very sensible plan and I commend you! Please be aware that as you exercise, you add muscle, which weighs more than fat; your weight may stay almost the same but you will be toned, in shape, and with a higher healthier metabolism. Don't put yourself on a "diet"; instead, slowly replace any bad eating habits (you don't seem to have any, though!) with good ones. You will succeed.

Losing weight has most to do with calories-in/calories-out. To lose weight you need to create a deficit for your calories. What this means is; you must consume less calories than you use. When you run out of calories to use for energy, your body starts using energy reserves which are mostly from your stored fat and muscle.

Only eating 1200-1400 probably means that you already have a deficit. If you're not losing weight then you've probably trained your body to *think* that all you need is 1200-1400 calories. I would recommend maintaining an active lifestyle to get your average calories burned to atleast 2500/day. This will allow you to eat 1500-2000 calories and maintain a healthy weight loss.

If you can; try to add resistance training as well so that you lose fat while maintaining your lean body mass (muscle).

Another possibility is that you are already the correct weight but need to tone up. In this case you should lift light weights for long reps 3 times per week. Also create an everyday workout for your core (abs,lower back,butt). This could be various types of situps and a few sets of squats.

Take my advice and apply it to your lifestyle for 6 weeks and I promise you'll see a difference in your body
