Sake Fuel Pros and Cons?

Recently there have been headlines about Japan's attempt at making Sake into a bio -fuel. Will this be plausable?

It seems silly. Of course any alcohol could be used as a fuel, but the world production of Sake (or any kind of liquor) is WAY less that we need to fuel all the machines in the world. You might run a few cars on it, but not all the cars. That is the problem with all the alternative energy ideas. They will all work, but the world cannot make enough of any of them. Only oil makes enough fuel. Running all cars on bio fuel is like cutting your lawn with scissors. You could cut one corner of your lawn with scissors and show that it works, but there is no way you could cut the whole lawn that way.

Everyone's problem with bio fuel is that they keep saying it cannot replace fossil fuel. The problem with these closed minded people is that why does it have to fully replace it. Why can't we have both. We have gas powered trucks and diesel powered trucks. We have oil heated homes and we have LP gas heated homes. The thing with bio fuel is not to replace fossil fuel, but to just compliment it to lessen our dependency on OPEC oil.

And most of the costs of alcohol is the taxes imposed on it by state governments.

Any source of alcohol can be used for bio-fuel. All it takes is sufficient purification so it can be transported and burned efficiently..

This said Sake (as is most alcoholic beverages) is expensive so it would probably not be economical...

As the other answer said also.. it is in very limited supply so it would not replace oil.. .

If u distill it to pure Alcohol it should work.
