Are they spiritually empty, but don't know how to fill it?

Except in a negative way? How sad.

Geez (figuratively), I'm not saying you don't have a right to be here, I just wonder why you are so attracted to religion (but in a negative way) when you don't believe in it anyway. It seems a little contradictive.

Read my profile!!!!!!!! I am an atheist who participates in this category in a very positive way!
And last time I checked, this was "Religion and SPIRITUALITY"...not just Religion.
Many atheist have spiritual, although not religious beliefs, therefore we have a valuable contribution to make.
I know there are some rude and arrogant atheists around here, but I have also seen my fair share of bigotted and abusive Christians etc.
Foolish question my friend.

because we have the right to learn and talk about religion just as much as you do.

also, being without religion doesn't mean being withou spirituality. after all, this is the religion AND spirituality section is it not?

anyway, along these lines, no creationist should ever be allowed to ask questions about evolution, no one that doesn't own a pet should be in the pet section, no one that isn't pregnant should be in the pregnancy section and so on and so forth.

grow up already

If I didn't have a pet, I wouldn't hang out in the Pet category, but if I saw a question on the Home page about pets that relates to education, I'd probably check it out because I AM interested in education.

Likewise, I'm assuming that most atheists probably do not hang out in the "Religion" category. They probably like to check out the Home page, and that's where they spot questions that troglodytes have posed to deliberately bait them.

Incidentally, if you are so spiritually full, why must you be so hateful?

Why do theists hang out in the science category?

Some R&S questions are posted on the main page, not just R&S

Because the very existence of God him/herself is probably the most important question one can ask a theist religion.

Mostly, they are trying to protect the US Constitution from being overthrown and America society from being ruined by scientifically illiterate and humanity-hating conservative Christians.

Or, maybe they are just playing - like a cat plays with a mouse.

do we get to drink for this one now too? i think it's a conspiracy to keep the atheists wasted so the fundies can take over the world with no voice of reason to stop them

Because even if you don't realize it, you need our point of view and we need yours. Only through challenging ideas can they be refined. It is through conflict and struggle that we grow.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

I think it is because atheists are (for the most part) mean-spirited and for some reason they feel good spending their time telling religious people how stupid and immature their beliefs are.

If I had a nickle for every time an atheist talked about how Christians force their beliefs on other people, I'd be a rich man... and yet they're all over these boards posting their beliefs in our conversations.
