Some interpret Paul's words to be an edict for all Christian churches that women should not preach or be leaders over men. Others interpret it as rules for one specific church. I tend to agree with the latter.

My personal belief is that if a woman feels called to preach, she should be allowed to do so. There are many denominations that allow it, so she should have no problem being ordained.

Edit to add to 'Forget my name:' There is nothing in the Bible that says a woman should not lead a nation. That's just a holdover from patriarchal society.

yes. some feel it femminist stunt but i think it should be done.i do not see that a person's sex has anything to do with their ability to. everyone does it to a degree even atheists though not as well. i only hope this will not become a ''back in the dark ages the phallus was more valued ''story. i hope it will be known it was not like that. it does seem a simplified form of it has been boiled down to a man holds this to be a sacred object and beleives this to hold all power and to have one is to control.i hope future people do not think this is what it was about or think past and current scandals are indicative of what is beleived. also that people will not go around saying if women were either priests or preachers this would never have happened. too late i suppose. or will they say things like those First Nations boys or other boys would not have been molested by priests in residential schools if women were in charge and could be priests . this is not what it is about of course but i think in the future these comments will be made. this in blankett statement of religious scandals.

The book of Revelation tells us that young men and women will prophesy and preach. So where is the problem? Women can spread the Gospel as well as men and the pay is the same.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 "...women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

Colossians 3:18–23 in particular is addressed directly to specific groups: women are to submit to the leadership of their husband, men to love their wives and not to treat them with harshness, children to respect their parents, fathers not to frustrate their children, and slaves to obey their masters.

Women were created to be helpmeets - or helpers - not leaders. Allowing women to assume roles in the church such as pastor, deacon or anything requiring leadership is unbiblical.

I have no problem with women preaching ... and many do read the Bible at Mass ... however, I don't believe they should do the"Transubstantiation of the Eucharist".
