I have an older SHARP VL-E34U Viewcam video camera, and the battery I have is no good. Its not holding a charge anymore, so I am trying to find a place that sells these still. I need one quick, so does anybody know where I can get one?

Take the old pack and send it to cheapbatterypacks.com They will rebuild the pack with new cells.

You can use any 3-cell NiCd pack with adequate capacity if you know how to do a little bit of checking using a multimeter... The cam has a plug for charging the battery pack which can also be used for powering the cam using a power cord plugged into the wall.
By putting the correct connector on a battery pack to plug it into that power port... you can make any sized battery pack you are willing to carry and use that to operate the camera.
Six "D Cell" NiCds in a 3-series X 2 parallel arrangement would last a long time per charge.

Radio Shack. They often stock unusual batteries and can usually get what you need in one or two days. Batteries are one of the few things they are still good for. I was even able to get a specialty battery for a military radio from them in two days. The radio manufacturer would have taken two weeks. They certainly don't carry electronic components like they used to.

Try Circuit City personally or Best Buy and most likely its duracel, or you can also try Radio Shack and they'll try and match it.
