muslims r not brainwashed, at least the true muslims. it is easy to say u r a muslim, it is another to act like one. muslims r muslims by free will. they r encouraged to look at other religions before choosing islam. if their is anyone that is brainwashed it is the christians. they have to put missionaries in other countries to prove their point, that is if they have one. they are expected to follow and to beleive no questions asked. no that is called brainwashed.

Why are you asking this when your profile says your are studying Islam? Are you wanting to be a Muslim or are you studying it to see what it's all about? And why only Islam? There are thousands of religions on this planet. And thousands brainwash their followers.

Not all are. Imagine you are a muslim by birth, and a threat of death looms over you if you decide to discard your faith, what would you do? You'll just continue to pretend to be ignorant, that's what you'll do. Remember, in islam there is no turning back. Once you join it, you can never leave.
